عشيرة الشغانبة تعلن تحرير سفينة عراقية من القراصنة الصوماليين

تمكن أبناء عشيرة الشغانبة من تحرير سفينة عراقية تعود ملكيتها لأحد أبناء العشيرة من رجال الأعمال، بعد اختطافها قبل نحو شهر من قِبل قراصنة صوماليين أثناء مرورها في ممر ملاحي دولي قرب السواحل الصومالية.

وكانت السفينة تنقل شحنة من النفط من الإمارات إلى عدد من الدول الأوروبية، قبل أن يستولي عليها القراصنة ويطالبوا بفدية مالية مقابل إطلاق سراحها.

وجرت العملية بالتنسيق مع الحكومة الصومالية، وبعد تتبع وملاحقة السفينة، حيث استمرت المواجهة أكثر من خمس ساعات، وانتهت بمقتل عدد من أفراد المجموعة المسلحة وأسر آخرين، إضافة إلى الاستيلاء على أسلحتهم.

وأفادت العشيرة بسلامة أفرادها المشاركين في العملية.
