Targeted support delivers, and @ARCSAfghanistan Balkh Marastoon shows what it looks like!

Established in 2001. It is a shelter for widows and families providing up to three years of support. With @IFRCAsiaPacific support, it was recently renovated through a residents-led approach.

The Marastoon is now better equipped to sustain and scale up its services where women and their families live with safety and dignity and are able to lead their livelihoods through skills training and income-generating activities.

Appreciation to @BritishRedCross and @FCDOGovUK for a strong partnership that enables the delivery of this important programme in #Afghanistan.

After the bombing of a rehab centre in Kabul, @ARCSAfghanistan supported the search and rescue, transported survivors to health centres & - what we often forget - helped retrieve & bury those killed. All done by dedicated volunteers who are always ready to help! @BritishRedCross

#Pakistan is rated 5th most vulnerable country to climate change, so it was great to attend the launch of a new phase of the @PRC_official program on climate resilience. This will support local initiatives to make communities better prepared for disasters. @BritishRedCross
