@ah_ra_cho Director of Clinical Experiences for Educator Prep at our IHE. The work is a good combination of my background in pk-12 with my degree in Ed leadership. I’ve considered searching for TT positions but honestly it’s great to not be on the RTP hamster-wheel.
@mrjumd I see people gathered frequently in Target waiting for cards to be put on the shelves in the early AM. Makes it a challenge for KIDS who would like to get cards for every once and a while. I’m tired of the whole “make a buck” scene especially when it impacts little ones.
@mrjumd AND let me add— I taught high school. High schoolers ALSO deserve to BE KIDS. They shouldn’t be tied down with hours of homework a night. That is just useless repetition.
@mrjumd Luckily Byron has never had homework in k - 2. I have been very pleased that they (school-wide)only expect the kids to read at home. I used to make him do spelling words (but that was my Type-A mom self) but I let that go in 2nd. I really support our school’s stance on HW.
@mrjumd As a teacher I NEVER gave homework outside of reviewing for a test. I despise homework for K-12 kiddos. They need time to be kids and teachers should use their time better.
