Today in Paris, representatives of Israeli and Palestinian civil society came together to deliver a message of hope.

These voices support the initiative announced by Saudi Arabia and France to revive the creation of a Palestinian state and Israel’s full integration in the Middle East. This effort will lead to an international conference at the United Nations in New York.

The objectives we are pursuing through this international conference are the following:

1. To secure the release of hostages and allow for the large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

2. To consolidate a lasting ceasefire.

3. To launch a political process that replaces violence — one that leads to a reform of the Palestinian Authority and the establishment of governance in Gaza under its authority, excluding Hamas, which must be disarmed.

The goal is a demilitarized Palestinian state which recognizes Israel’s existence and security, backed by an international stabilization mission. This is the necessary precondition for Israel’s regional integration and the establishment of mutual recognition.

If the conference must be postponed for logistical and security reasons — notably due to the inability of Palestinian Authority leaders to travel to the United Nations — it will be held as soon as possible.

In the coming days, in coordination with our partners, a new date will be set.

Our commitment to advancing the two-state solution, under all circumstances, is unwavering.
