Donald Trump: “Why can’t we have some people from Norway?”
As a Norwegian, here is my answer:
In Norway, we have permanent employment guaranteed by law, collective wage agreements, and strong unions.
In the US, you can lose your job overnight, without any reason.
In Norway, you can be sick without being financially punished.
In the US, getting sick can mean losing both your pay and your job.
In Norway, we have the right to paid holiday, leave, and a secure pension.
And healthcare and education are free.
In the US, much of this is up to your boss—if you are lucky.
And this is not a coincidence.
It is the result of ordinary people standing together, organising, and fighting for these rights.
So no thanks, I am not moving to get worse rights.
I will stay and defend the working life we have built here.
Listening to Trump speak, I have no idea how Marc Carney can sit there and keep calm. Trump has to be one of the biggest idiots hateful racist bastards I’ve ever seen in my lifetime.
The difference between Americans and Canadians. When California had its major forest fires we immediately sent help. Now Canada has major forest fires. They immediately ask us to manage the smoke.
So Donald Trump, now into his second term as president has accomplished absolutely nothing other than cause economic instability all over the world, including the US and increase inflation. 🤦🏾♂️
@LP_LaPresse Je suis tellement écœuré de l’entendre celui-là, je n’en peux plus. Médias s’il vous plaît, on s’en câlice de Poilievre ou Trump jr appeler le comme vous voulez
he said prices would go down on day 1. prices have gone up. He said he would stop the war in Ukraine on day 1. that has not happened. He is working a deal for Iran to have nuclear capabilities, he has got a $400 million plane from Qatar. He is gutting Medicaid. Nice guy….
Sure seems like Poilievre will never get over blaming Trudeau. Does he truly believe that the Trudeau government did absolutely nothing good for Canada? This new cabinet is almost all new ministers but a few from the Trudeau era and probably the best.
While listening to taking stock today, I find out that federal regulatory red tape has increased 37% between 2006 and 2015. Pretty sure we know who was in power during that time and they are the ones now blaming the current government for all the red tape.
We need to move past the annexation fantasies. What matters now is building a true partnership — to act together, build together, and face the world from a position of strength.
Danielle Smith claims the Federal Government has not done anything for Alberta in the past 10 years. She's wrong. Below is the list of things the Federal Government has done. @ABDanielleSmith needs to stop trying the distract Alberta from her scandal with AHS.
Listening to Andrew Scheer with Vassey and it is clear to me that the federal conservatives are tone deaf, and with this attitude will give a liberal majority next election if they do not change.
