Sheriff Mikesell said the plan to get the elevator working did work and people came out in groups of 4. @9NEWS

HAPPENING NOW: 1 person is dead and 12 people still need rescuing at the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine near Cripple Creek where an elevator malfunctioned.

The Teller County Sheriff’s Office wouldn’t give us details of what caused the issue - just that it didn’t collapse. @9NEWS
