A DMCA takedown request is almost alwys a win for the sender. Itโs a simple letter and platforms yank first to keep legal safe harbor, then tell both sides to fight.
Filing is cheap. Fighting back means a lawsuit.
The bigger or louder projects can KO smaller ones on a marketplace before anyone proves the art was copied.
Itโs a form email that says โthis is my copyright, take that down.โ You donโt need a judge, a company, or a slam-dunk case. It's just an email.
Platforms almost always comply. Because ignoring a valid notice can cost them safe harbor. Taking a collection down is a ticket while leaving it up is a lawsuit risk.
Then the small project gets the trap: do nothing and stay delisted, or file a counter-notice and consent to a case.
Restoration takes ~10โ14 business days if nobody sues. Most tiny teams canโt pay that fight. Who filed first often wins by default, not by law.
Copyright doesnโt cover entire genres. It covers specific art. Procedure beats proof when one side canโt afford court.
Just bagged myself a whopping 1,450,000 $LHT win purely from bonus spins on @LuckyHashWin's Hash Temple Slots, all while participating in the current Temple Run competition.
Today I struck it lucky, so I'm passing some luck back to you guys. ๐งก
