Some people took issue with me calling Bailey’s performance at the plate thus far unlucky. It’s an 89 plate appearance sample size, entirely minute.

Nothing in the underlying data suggests that he’s any different a hitter than he’s been his entire career. Which is still well below average (70-80 wRC+), but plenty good enough to keep the profile afloat given the otherworldly defensive skills.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to call him the most talented defender of all time.
