To test if it gets routed to the dumb model, you can try it two or three times
GPUI provides the native rendering foundation: layout, text shaping, and GPU painting. Solid’s contribution is fine-grained JS-side updates, with the Solid GPUI bridge batching host mutations into incremental patches.
That keeps updates and bridge traffic focused on changes, but a small patch doesn’t guarantee equally small native rendering work—the current host still has tree processing and root-level rendering work. So both layers matter at different stages. I wouldn’t put percentages on their contributions without profiling a specific workload and separating reactivity, bridge overhead, and native rendering costs. I might do some tests in the future.
SolidJS mainly provides a better way to write UI. (Perhaps for former front-end developers)
