@nbcchicago What is going on with your scrolling “bottom line” in the morning? It’s been this way for weeks now. No punctuation, random capitalizations and a strange smattering of “Today Show” logos. Sloppy and embarrassing. Does nobody have any pride for the network appearance?
@allwiscoalltime@sheanorling Correct, the NFL does schedule week 18 games so that if/then results are playing at the same time. For example, the Bears and Eagles played at the same time as their results mattered. Had the Eagles lost in the noon slate, the Bears starters would not have played at 3:25.
@allwiscoalltime@sheanorling Or won *less* games, I guess. Hm.
But yes, I would like the NFL to make every effort to make the playoffs as fair and equitable as possible.
@allwiscoalltime@sheanorling The Steelers or Ravens weren’t “forced” to play their starters either… The point is, one team had something to play for, the other didn’t. In an imperfect system, it somehow favored the (vastly) lower seeded team, and the NFL was ok exacerbating it with the broadcast schedule
@melissaparaf@sheanorling The choices were not the same. One team had nothing to gain, the other controlled their outcome. It’s not a perfect system, but why not stick 49ers/Eagles in that short spot? Eagles rested starters, 49ers on a long week. Common sense is that it’s a better product for all involved
@WaddleandSilvy If Caleb makes a good ball, we are sitting here going “Our coach not only has the balls to make the call, but also took enough clock off to prevent GB from going back down for 3”. That down was the best look the Bears were going to get for favorable coverage and it worked.
@ClayTravis Will be fun for sure, but not a great argument. ACC game mattered; SEC game didn’t. In fact, Texas probably did itself a service by losing. Oregon could’ve done the same. That’s pretty damning imo
@CubsSkipper Still enjoying your 83 wins? Last year didn’t seem to fuel a whole heck of a lot, huh? Meanwhile, wouldn’t hurt to have another prospect in the system to flip.
Tried to invest my afternoon commutes in @MitchRosen670 - but the Chicago sports fan will never be good enough for @DannyParkins First it was crying about Cowherd and now chasing natl TV on a big local sports day. Good luck DP; maybe you’ll even buy on a real golf course one day.
