As much as any concept can be hard to grasp, there is one that is quite embedded by now.
If you want total freedom you need to opt for solitary living in the jungle, otherwise, in a society where everybody collaborates and supplies services to each other, manners and rules were invented so people would not be at each other's throat all the time.
Otherwise it's even less organized than feudality, it's pure chaos and no society can survive that.
