GREAT NEWS: New York has just passed the first statewide law to ban gas in new buildings. 🎉
The #AllElectricBuildings Act — which will take effect in 2026 — takes aim at indoor air pollution from gas stoves, which is responsible for 19% of childhood asthma cases in New York.
Our very own Diane Takvorian, co- founder of Environmental Health coalition #EHC, will be honored by the Cesar Chavez Clubs today! In her words "one of the most effective and exciting organizations for youth!"
Thank you, Diane, for leading the fight for environmental justice!
Happy to be kicking off our 2023 DFA Summit “Our Voice, Our Power” curriculum to unpack and share with national civic engagement directors what has been months of hard work. The 2023 general election and 2024 is around the corner. The time is now. #ourvoiceourpower#lcvef
I’m so excited to share the first online workshop of the year with you all! I know a lot of folks are unfamiliar with the existence of AfroMexican communities and our history, so this workshop is just in time for Black History Month…
$165,000,000,000.
That's how much climate change-fueled extreme weather cost the U.S. in 2022 alone.
Don't want to hear about how we "can't afford" to fight climate change — we can't afford NOT to.
63 million Americans have been exposed to unsafe drinking water in America like folks in #Jackson. Over 100,000 die prematurely from #airpollution & our addiction to utilizing fossil fuels is strengthening the #atmosphericriver that’s causing historical flooding in #California.
The chaos happening on Capitol Hill shows that #KevinMcCarthy & #Republicans are not ready for prime time. Grab your popcorn, sour patch kids-kick back and watch the dysfunction & mayhem. Everyone pray this is not a snapshot of the next 24 months of harmful policy. @rolandsmartin
EHC's @EjCarolina asks policymakers to urgently implement #SanDiego's 2021 Regional Plan. Lack of transit is hurting family finances while investing in it pays off — a 2019 analysis found that every $1 spent on the @sdmts yielded $2.82 in economic value https://t.co/FCHj9YnbyE
☠️☠️🚚Diesel soot pollution from trucks lodges deep in the lungs causing asthma, lung disease & cancer. An #ACF with a 2036 100% #ElectricTruck sales target can prevent 2,400 premature deaths and put us on the path to #StopDieselDeath! #CleanAir

A proposed grant in NV aims to use $300,000 in funding to uplift bad air quality to a healthier level. More than 1/2 of East Las Vegas’s community is Latinx & vulnerable to the risk of poor air quality. We love to see investments that protecting health!

#IndigenousPeoplesDay is Oct 10th-the arrival of Columbus marks the arrival of colonialism, enslavement & extraction & Italians who stand in love, solidarity & their humanity must demand a well deserved Italian Heritage Day that does not celebrate genocide #ColumbusWasAMurderer
The burden of transportation pollution isn’t shared equally. Low-income communities and many communities of color are disproportionately harmed
by transportation pollution. 🚙💨https://t.co/bGYx9lAgbS
#ZeroEmissionFuture
For too long, air pollution has caused disease, suffering, & death. This is especially true for Black, Indigenous, & communities of color, who are disproportionately impacted by air pollution. It is time that we tell the EPA that we won't breathe dirty air!
While natural disasters do not discriminate, their long-term impact disproportionately falls on low-income communities of color. We must continue to fight for climate justice and urge the federal government to invest in our gente to protect them and our future generations ✊🏽 #IAN
