The migratory birds of BJP fly into Bengal before every election and vanish the moment the results are out. Trinamool Congress, on the other hand, stands with you all 365 days of the year. BJP talks about “Sankalp”. We deliver our “Protigya”. BJP conspires to snatch away your constitutional right to vote. We fight relentlessly to protect your franchise.

BJP forces you to stand in endless queues. We reach your doorstep with a wide range of welfare schemes. BJP believes in the politics of “Dharma”. We believe in the politics of “Karma”. That is, was, and will always be the fundamental difference between us. And it is this difference that will decide the fate of Bengal in the coming elections.

Today, during my janasabhas covering Daspur, Keshiary, and Dantan, and the karmisabha at Nandigram, I clearly felt the pulse of the people. They are seething with anger and waiting for the right moment to democratically bury the BJP under an avalanche of votes.

International Santal Council, a private organisation, invited Hon’ble President to the 9th International Adivasi Santal Conference in Siliguri.

After Advanced Security Liaison, district administration flagged in writing to the President’s Secretariat that the organiser appeared inadequately prepared; the concern was also conveyed telephonically (For relevant letters and photographs, see my related facebook post)

The President’s Secretariat advance team visited on 05.03.26, was apprised of the lack of arrangements, yet the programme continued as scheduled.

Hon’ble President was received and seen off by Mayor Siliguri Municipal Corporation, DM Darjeeling and CP Siliguri Police Commissionerate strictly as per the approved lineup shared by the President’s Secretariat. CM, West Bengal was not part of the lineup or the dais plan. No protocol lapse happened on part of district administration.

BJP is disrespecting and misusing the highest chair in the country for its own party agenda. Most unfortunate.

Across several BJP-ruled states, our Dalit and Adivasi brothers and sisters continue to face humiliation, intimidation and attempts to dilute the very safeguards that generations struggled to secure. When constitutional protections are spoken of lightly, when dignity is treated as negotiable, silence becomes complicity.

That is why today, from Nazrul Mancha, I launched Tapashilir Sanglap. The Constitution does not create first-class and second-class citizens. It guarantees equality, representation, and dignity. And when any community is made to feel insecure or targeted, it becomes our responsibility to stand beside them, firmly and without hesitation.

On this very date in 1930, Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar led the Kalaram Mandir Satyagraha in Nashik, asserting the right of Dalits to enter a temple that had denied them humanity. Coincidentally, ninety-six years later, as I paid my tributes to Babasaheb and Bhagwan Birsa Munda, I was reminded that equality must be protected in every generation.

Tapashilir Sanglap is our commitment to that protection. Over the next two months, we will go to the people, listen carefully, engage meaningfully, and strengthen unity. The road ahead will demand clarity and courage but Bengal has never stepped back from that responsibility and we must be united now, more than ever!
