AIF CEO, @john_rostron , has called for “urgent government intervention” to assist events hit by rising supply chain costs, debts incurred during the Covid pandemic and slower ticket sales, stymied further by the cost of living crisis

The mainstream is so focused on tribalism and rage baiting. Yet there’s so many amazing things happening right now and none of it seems to get published.
Here’s just the last month or so:
1. Novel new approach to creating an antibiotic that is effective against an antibiotic resistant infection. Created in conjunction with AI. This is a whole new approach to antibiotics! 🎉
2. Deepmind published that their AI has discovered 360,000 new stable materials that humans didn’t know of. That’s materials to create things. It’s also *800 years* of discovery in a single find 🤯
3. AI created new knowledge by being able to solve for mathematic scenarios far beyond where humans have achieved to date. This will aid us in accelerating discovery by unlocking more understanding of the universe and how things work. 🧠
4. An AI model for weather prediction was created. It can provide a 10 day forecast that’s as effective as the three $1.5b super computers in the world that are used for our weather prediction today. This model can run on a high end PC. 🌧️
That’s just 4. They’re not chat bots or image generators (plenty of breakthroughs there too!). Real scientific breakthroughs for humanity.
Remember this when you’re doom scrolling or reading about how everything is hopeless.
The world 10 years from now is going to be so different. Imagine if our media focused more on these truly epic breakthroughs for mankind and the implications.
We are living in a golden age of discovery, right now. Let’s go! 🚀

@posthuman They put a similar amount of effort into the bassline on Guaranteed. Can't find the article but it was in that free mag you used to get in music shops back in the late 80s/ early 90s (can't remember the name :/ )

Brian Dougans was always a big Bryce3D fan so must be loving Midjourney & the rest of it.
