The signal that the NITA bill is sending to the very people who are building the tech ecosystem might end up damaging the very ecosystem it intends to regulate.
I have a HUGE announcement! 🎉
My new book, Get Insanely Good at AI is live!
266 pages covering everything you need to actually be unstoppable with this technology.
I've spent the last thirteen years building software, the last few using AI to build and ship things I could never have built alone, while teaching thousands of developers how to do the same.
Everything I know about getting SERIOUS leverage out of this technology is in this book.
It's live right now at https://t.co/dJW8b224vU. Please check it out. I'd love to hear back from you!
I bought a brand-new MTN SIM yesterday and to my shock, I started receiving UBA debit alerts.
Let me be very clear: I don’t bank with UBA.
A few minutes later, it hit me. I was sold someone else’s line.
This morning, the actual owner made another transaction… and yes, another debit alert entered my phone.
How is this even possible?
You buy a “new” SIM and inherit someone’s bank alerts, financial history, and privacy risks?
This isn’t just strange, it’s dangerous.
👋 Meet Sean Rolel, a Staff Software Engineer at Coursera!
Sean has worked at Coursera for over seven years, starting as an intern and, over time, advancing into his current role on the Site Reliability Engineering team. Here are his top skills:
1️⃣ Looking at the big picture: “Communicating with other engineers and teams to build solutions that have the most outsized impact.”
2️⃣ Debugging and general problem solving: “I often have to debug code and infrastructure that I'm not totally familiar with. Being able to immerse myself in the unknown while still having the confidence to get to the bottom of a problem is invaluable.”
3️⃣ Balancing delivery and maintainability: “Being able to ship quickly while taking on calculated tech debt and making a real, documented plan to pay it back later.”
🌟 Sean’s career advice: “Always aim to expand your visibility and sphere of influence. That can be leading impactful projects, coming up with innovative ideas, or just being helpful to other people outside your immediate team.”
Laravel has opinions. Where do controllers go? We know. How do you queue a job? We know. How do you send an email? We know. 🧠
AI agents thrive on this. They stop guessing and start shipping code that actually looks like a human wrote it.
@Amospikins I clean the data to be sure I don’t log sensitive data. I never knew even my logs could be a target. Good information you have just given me
In the middle of the year I travelled outside the country and I was able to buy an eSIM for data and calls in just a few minutes and had it working. I am changing my phone and I place a request to @MTNGhana for an eSIM and guess what. I need to wait 72 hours.
@MTNGhana Already done that. That was on Saturday. I am told the 72 days starts from today - from the call to customer service. So I am probably looking at Wednesday being the latest. And I need to move my data to the new phone today and return it.
