Omar getting deported is a victory so monumental, I can't even put it into words. All my gripes with Trump regarding Iran fall out of mind if it happens.
She needs to go home, hopefully after a prison sentence (for anything) here.
@bioinvestor24 They will never beat the economics of $LLY orforglipron (Foundayo). Small molecule non-peptide GLP-1 agonist. Order of magnitude COG difference. Just sayin'
Well said Vas. AI will help us conquer disease, but this will take time, effort and lots and lots of data that doesn’t exist, yet. I would add that robotic labs will begin to make scaling data more tractable. https://t.co/J19dfCO2Yi
Hey Dave, you are an amazing CEO, but I wish you'd reflect the optimism of Elon & Jensen. I was a CEO many years ago, and what I lacked in talent I more than made up for in vision, enthusiasm, and optimism which brought me the best talent and high interest and engagement from my clients. Here is what my post would be, if I were you:
Vas, I, too, believe AI will profoundly transform how we understand biology and develop medicines. What excites me most is the magnitude of the possibility before us. I place no upper bound on what we can ultimately accomplish together.
Moving clinical success rates from 8% to 15% would be extraordinary. My ambition extends far beyond that. The performance of yesterday’s methods will not define the limits of tomorrow’s science.
We are entering a fundamentally new era of discovery. Our thinking must evolve with it.
For generations, scientists have worked with incomplete biological information, limited experimental capacity, and fragmented knowledge. AI, accelerated computing and robotic laboratories will transform those conditions simultaneously. We will explore more possibilities, connect previously isolated insights, and continuously refine our understanding through experimental evidence. We will do this at an exponential rate, which the human brain has a difficult time understanding.
At Lilly, we’re assembling the capabilities to lead that transformation. And it will happen, sooner than you think.
LillyPod is already online, powered by 1,016 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs—the most powerful AI factory owned and operated by a pharmaceutical company. We’re combining that computing power with decades of proprietary experimental data, exceptional scientific talent, clinical expertise, and the manufacturing scale to deliver medicines worldwide.
And we won't stop there.
Together with Jensen Huang and NVIDIA, we’ve committed up to $1 billion to a joint AI innovation lab. Our ambition is a continuously learning scientific enterprise: models that generate hypotheses, robotic laboratories that test them, and experimental results that make subsequent models more capable.
We will rapidly advance how we investigate how genes, proteins and cellular pathways interact; identify the mechanisms driving disease; design molecules to intervene; and use experimental and clinical evidence to sharpen our predictions. Each discovery will enrich the foundation for the next.
Some of the most consequential biological datasets in history do not yet exist. We will create them. Sooner than anyone can imagine. And, through Lilly TuneLab, we’re extending advanced discovery capabilities to biotechnology innovators, bringing more scientific imagination to this endeavor.
This demands a different conception of what is possible. We must think beyond incremental improvements to familiar processes and embrace the creation of entirely new scientific capabilities.
Agents will work as huge force multipliers for our scientists.
AI is often described as no panacea. But it is. Our ability to understand, predict and intervene in disease advances will soon be indistinquishable from "magic".
I believe all diseases can and will be cured. That conviction gives our work its direction, its urgency and its extraordinary promise.
Lilly will lead. And together—with scientists, technology partners, clinicians and patients around the world—we will accomplish this mission.
So if all the reports are true, Ilhan Omar
lied about her age to make it seem like she naturalized through her father, who apparently she lied about being a citizen in the first place, then used her illegitimate citizenship to marry her brother so that he could inherit her fake naturalization before remarrying and starting a fraudulent winery that sold empty bottles of wine?
Desinfornation on X?
What do you think Meta did on Covid vaccines while you were there and you that you supported publicly numerous times?
I worked for X at the time (pre Elon) and saw first hand how social media was manipulated and did my best to push out.
You should get off your high moral horse and be more critical. Look at how well democracy is going in France right now because people are not willing to analyze problems objectively anymore ..
"racist ideas"
Like what? That white people are inherently evil and responsible for all the evil in the world?
Oh wait, that’s a tenet of the ideology held by the left.
You have the audacity to speak of human decency. You people are literally the worst of the worst.
Yann, your condescending dismissal of Elon Musk is astonishing.
SpaceX transformed access to space. Starlink connects millions, including people in war zones and disaster areas. Tesla accelerated the EV revolution and grid-scale energy storage. Neuralink is giving people with paralysis new independence.
And FSD has now accumulated over 15 BILLION real-world miles. Tesla reports dramatically fewer collisions with FSD engaged. Consider the lives potentially saved, the severe injuries avoided, the families spared suffering, and the billions in medical costs, lost productivity, and property damage that safer driving eliminates.
The humanitarian implications are extraordinary.
As for the Roadster, must everything be commercially practical? It represents imagination, engineering ambition, humor, and optimism. Sending a Roadster into solar orbit was a wonderful piece of ART!!!
And I find your criticism of X particularly ironic given your senior position at Meta during years of controversial content moderation. Aka CENSORSHIP. Free expression includes speech you dislike.
Your academic contributions are substantial, Yann. But before talking down to Elon, consider a few questions:
How many lives have your innovations saved? How much suffering have they prevented? How many trillions of dollars of economic value have they created?
Elon has repeatedly turned improbable ideas into functioning technologies that benefit humanity.
You don’t have to admire the man, Yann. But if you had a little common sense, you would. The contempt is unbecoming of a scientist of your stature.
Dave — I’m very bullish on LLY and have a lot of admiration for how you’ve led the company. I don’t think this one needed to be said, though. The take is pretty self-evident, and the post ends up feeling like more of a dig at the people watching the company closely than anything else.
🚨 JUST IN: While France burns, Polish Member of European Parliament Dominik Tarczynski is WALKING THROUGH Krakow LATE at night, showing all of Europe it's PERFECTLY CALM
"Look how safe we are. Churches are safe. Because we did not let them in. Zero means zero. 'Be like Poland' means be brave." 🇵🇱🇺🇸
"We know what jihadists are capable of. We do not know what second or third generation of so-called refugees will do. Well, actually we do know... we can see what is happening in France."
There are no riots, no burning buildings and no police lines
Poland refused the EU's migrant relocation quotas, and the EU's top court ruled against it. Poland didn't budge!
In the same 24 hours, France's major streets and businesses are burning and being ransacked by leftists, Islamists and invaders
EVERY NATION CAN BE LIKE THIS. It's a matter of CHOICE
How do I stay optimistic while reading 100+ stories a week (Including the negative ones)? For me, optimism is a conclusion that I can keep re-deriving from evidence. Perhaps once the data proves me wrong, I'll change; however, forty years in, I've never been this excited about the future.
I’ve spent a few days thinking about the Tesla Roadster reveal and landed somewhere I haven’t seen much discussion. I’m neither a Tesla fanboy nor a Tesla hater. And I couldn’t care less whether what we saw technically qualifies as a flying car. Three takeaways: (1) The risk of that live demonstration going horribly wrong was real. Almost no CEO would willingly expose their company to that kind of public humiliation for a product with so little financial upside. Elon did. (2) That willingness to attempt the seemingly impossible is what makes Tesla special. It’s also arguably Elon’s greatest contribution to America. He’s helped bring back something we’ve lost. The American spirit of chasing big scary ideas that most people think are impossible. That mindset is spreading across a new generation of founders and its long term impact on America’s future could dwarf anything Tesla ever sells. I think this is deeply underappreciated. (3) Can we just acknowledge how insanely cool that moment was? We’ve reached a strange place culturally where even extraordinary feats of human ingenuity immediately become arguments about why they don’t count. Not everything needs to be a debate. Sometimes we should just be able to stand back together and marvel at what humans are capable of. I’ve been both bullish and critical of Tesla’s ambitions over the years. But watching Elon and his team push the boundaries of what’s possible reminds me why I’m glad we have him. Whether the Roadster ever makes Tesla a dollar or impacts $TSLA stock price is almost beside the point. We need more people willing to risk failure in pursuit of things the rest of us think are impossible. Because when they succeed we all win.
