This is worth a read: a thought-provoking reminder that education reform isn’t a cure-all. As a supporter of education reform, I agree that fixing educational inequality requires doing more to address the broader, systemic sources of economic inequality. https://t.co/96B7fkBM4u
1 in 6 U.S. teachers work second jobs.
When we’re in the White House that is going to change.
We are going to pay all our teachers at least $60,000 a year.
50 years ago, history was written at the Stonewall Inn when New York's LGBT community stood up, spoke out, and started a movement. In 2016 I was proud to designate it as a national monument—a reminder the arc of our history is an arc of progress as long as we keep pushing for it.
@babygirlbrenda@BarackObama Oh for the sincerity of the caring Obama days!! You, Michelle and the girls embedded a loving caring and passionate era which so many of us miss in today’s White House I’ve never met you but I’m blessed to have known of you.
Adminisrators, teachers love to feel appreciated. And while mugs and snacks are lovely, what we really want is an ongoing culture of appreciation built through encouraging our autonomy, inviting our flexibility, coaching our failures and your regular presence in our classrooms.
@GuptonFCS_LHS Personally I loved those summer packets, they are usually different than classwork. Some ask me for it for various reasons and I will provide. But obviously if it’s not gonna happen I don’t push it.
We are praying for our city, the lives that were lost, their families and everyone affected.
We are resilient.
We will not only get through this but we’ll come out of this stronger than before we always do.
