@malpani Price which is mentioned is only for peak hours(not confirmed). In peak hours when demand is high, power plants have to increase their generation capacity. For ex. 250MW power plant can go upto 275(10%).When they go above the limit 250MW,Price will go up, incld time factor.
Power exchange works just like stock exchange. If you don't have Mou with any power plant, then you have to purchase it from exchange, if supply is less than demand, price will go up ie mostly in peak hours. Govt with mou gets at fixed price till amount of unit mentioned in mou.
@flyspicejet flight to DBG from Mumbai was booked from @HappyFareIndia and it was cancelled on 5th sept by @flyspicejet , I asked for my refund.and one month has passed and still waiting for the refund. What is time limit for the refund @DGCAIndia.

Did you know❓
For transactions above ₹2,000, a flat MDR of just ₹5 per transaction applies to specific merchant categories, including Railways, Telecom Services, Insurance and Fuel, regardless of the transaction amount.

Wht if any company like irctc, flight booking, insurance, e commerce start to add charge on upi payment, will govt stops them to not charge MDR from customer?
Is it mentioned in notification that merchant can not chrge MDR+GST on MDR from consumer?
Can you confirm @TVMohandasPai
Why is MDR stupid @kushal_mehra ? 96% payments will not be impacted. What is your point? Why should banks, apps continue to subside this? It does not impact the ‘common man’ or small firms as most bills are below 2000. It also has a cap.
@JM_Scindia if I purchase 4000 of petrol at petrol pump, MDR + gst on MDR will be paid by the petrol pump. That will not pass on to customer.
And also in case of flight and rai ticket booking, MDR will be paid by the company not passes on to customer. Can you confirm.??
हमारे आपके UPI ट्रांजैक्शन पर कोई चार्ज नहीं, 96% transactions पूरी तरह चार्ज फ्री हैं।🇮🇳
UPI MDR
@RailMinIndia@FinMinIndia
If I book a railway ticket of value more than 2000 and paid via upi, then who will pay the MDR and gst on MDR??? I hve to pay or @IRCTCofficial have to pay. If @IRCTCofficial have to pay, will they charge me that amnt over the tckt price. Plse clarify.
As you are playing with words, get this fact,
1. Merchants will never bear the MDR itself, they will pass on to the customer i.e ordinary citizens.
2. It will discourage the acceptance of UPI payment at small business especially FMCG counters.
Remember the noise over UPI? “UPI will no longer be free.” “Modi government is going to charge citizens.” “Foreign pressure is behind this.”
The Ministry of Finance has now put the facts on record. The entire narrative was misleading.
Here is what the government has categorically clarified:
1. No charges for UPI users.
Consumers making payments through UPI will not face transaction charges.
2. Person-to-person UPI remains free.
P2P transactions will continue to be free of charge.
3. No charges on everyday citizen transactions.
There is no proposal to impose a charge every time an ordinary citizen scans a QR code or pays through UPI.
4. MDR, where introduced, will be limited.
Any Merchant Discount Rate will apply only to a limited set of merchant transactions above a specified threshold, with rates lower than debit or credit cards.
5. The vast majority of merchant transactions will remain free.
The government has made it clear that the bulk of UPI merchant transactions will continue without charges.
So what is the amendment actually about?
UPI has grown from a pioneering digital-payment system into the backbone of India’s digital economy. With transaction volumes exploding, the ecosystem needs sustained investment in cybersecurity, fraud prevention, infrastructure and technological upgrades.
The government’s stated objective is therefore to create a self-sustaining, competitive and resilient payment ecosystem, rather than relying indefinitely on subsidies.
And this also demolishes another manufactured narrative: that some external power is dictating India’s UPI policy.
The government points out a simple fact: UPI was introduced in 2016, and it has remained free for citizens since January 2020. It has become one of the world’s largest real-time payment systems precisely because India built and scaled it on its own terms.
The bottom line is crystal clear:
✅ UPI remains free for citizens.
✅ No charge on everyday transactions by citizens.
✅ P2P UPI remains free.
✅ Any MDR will be confined to a limited set of merchant transactions.
✅ The vast majority of merchant transactions will remain free.
✅ UPI will continue to remain a flagship pillar of India’s digital innovation.
Those who rushed to declare that “UPI is no longer free” were either deliberately misleading people or simply did not bother reading the facts.
The government has clarified. The misinformation should end here.
If the Government starts taking strict action against fake news and those who deliberately spread it, half the problem will disappear on its own...

Rahul Gandhi’s sudden concern over examination paper leaks is a masterclass in political hypocrisy.
Congress is the fountainhead of the paper leak menace in India. Even today, the worst record on examination integrity lies with states governed by the I.N.D.I alliance.
In the 2025–26 academic year alone, reported paper leaks and major exam irregularities have surfaced in:
• Jammu & Kashmir – Service Selection Board Exam
• Himachal Pradesh – HP Board Class 12 English
• Jharkhand – JAC Class 10 Hindi & Science
• Telangana – Intermediate Language Paper & SSC Urdu Medium Paper
• Tamil Nadu – TNTEU B.Ed Examination
• West Bengal – Police Constable Recruitment Exam (under Trinamool)
• Punjab – PSSSB Group B Recruitment Exam
• Kerala – PSC-26 Exam Irregularities
• Karnataka – SSLC & 2nd PUC Preparatory Exams
What has the Congress or any of its I.N.D.I alliance partners done to prevent these leaks? Where are the protests against their own governments? Where is the accountability?
Their outrage is purely political.
The BJP, on the other hand, has acted decisively by enacting the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, providing a strong legal framework to deter paper leaks, crack down on organised exam mafias, and ensure stringent punishment for those who compromise the future of India’s youth. Now the Prime Minister has announced fast track courts.
Students deserve secure examinations, not political theatre. The difference is clear: the BJP legislates and acts; the Congress protests and deflects.

@vikrantgupta73 However, things are always different, when you analyse off the field. He may wanted to get one or two over of spin from others quickly, under shadow of usman tariq. But things didn't go in favour. It's not always captain fault, player didn't perform to their capacity.
If PM of any country has to take his words back, it's none less than humiliation irrespective of whatever you get. Decision might be right or wrong, but if head of nation has announced then you have to live with it. @CMShehbaz@TheRealPCB
