Southern aristocrats called for secession and had the lower class fight a bloody war in an attempt to protect their wealth and status.

@ZackBeatty18 @winnnc6 @_jonbeck While I don’t think you’re trying to justify slavery I think you misunderstand this southern “way of life”. Southern Aristocrats owned slaves and made enormous profits from their plantations and it was these people that called for secession not poor white farmers
