SHAME: Governor Landry just signed permitless carry into law. Shame on every lawmaker who put their allegiance to the gun lobby above public safety and voted for this dangerous bill, including the three Democrats—C. Travis Johnson, Wilford Carter, and Robby Carter.

2) Maine doesn’t require background checks on unlicensed gun sales, so even if they had a red flag law, he could have just bought a gun at a gun show.

Awful. Awful way to die. The anxiety they must have had getting on to it in the first place. The noises the vessel inevitably made before it tore apart. The families not knowing what happened, and may never truly know.

Those poor migrants. They only wanted a better life.
