Not exactly sure why there is pushback on this being a good core around Edwards. In the salary cap era, it is much more valuable and sustainable to have three very good players next to one great player than two great players and a drop-off.

So hard — almost impossible — to have two super max contracts and still have enough money to form a championship roster.

This is a really great foundation. A ton of offensive versatility and a lot of length. And who knows, maybe the Wolves use their $33.3 million trade exception to add to this 26-and-under core. Or maybe Rudy Gobert is dealt.

The Wolves have financial freedom right now. Just can't overstate how important that is in today's NBA.

and to do that you can’t have 75% of your cap space or whatever obscene number it is wrapped up in 2 superstar max contract players. It doesn’t work in today’s league.
