Resurgence of the #Epidemic in #China: A Large Number of People Die with "#WhiteLungs" According to @NTDChinese, through interviews with mainland #Chinese citizens from September to November, a large number of people died, all exhibiting symptoms of "white lungs." Mr. Ma, a Beijing resident, said: "Last month, one of my brothers died of white lungs. I went to bury him last week, on the 18th, it was white lungs. I arrived at Babaoshan before 7 o'clock, and it was 9:05 when I collected the ashes. You can imagine how many people there were?" On November 21st, a netizen posted: "On November 10th, 2023, when the first snow fell in Shijiazhuang, my grandfather passed away from heart failure, kidney failure, and white lungs." This post triggered a series of comments, with people sharing similar experiences: "My grandfather also passed away on October 30th," "My grandfather passed away on November 6th, also due to white lungs as a post-COVID complication," "My grandfather also passed away on the 10th." On Chinese social media, many netizens posted about their relatives or colleagues who passed away between September and November, all showing symptoms of white lungs. This includes children, with one mother revealing her 9-month-old baby "couldn't survive #mycoplasmapneumonia." Young adults also died, with a netizen stating their 28-year-old nephew "passed away from white lungs after 7 days of illness," "A customer service manager in his thirties passed away from white lungs this weekend. He died less than a week after falling ill." Many elderly also passed away. A netizen commented: "This year, I've attended several funerals.
