@ctsbulls@670TheScore@chicagobulls I've never been more pissed off with the bulls then I am now. Marc Eversley sounds like a corporate puppet and very vanilla with his answers. Reinsdorf running the bulls like a small market team.

1/ Illinois lawmakers had one job:
Pass a responsible budget.
Instead, they dropped a $55 billion bomb full of tax hikes, gimmicks, and pay raises.
Here’s the breakdown of it all: 🧵
Thank you to everyone that participated in last week’s fundraiser, we raised $1,000 for LIGHT the LINE. Thank you Ms. French team for doing great work.
Thank you @AldermanTabares for always being a great partner. Thank you @TrianosPizza & @AngiesPizzaChi for your partnership.
Today a diverse cadre of elected officials came together to once again call on @ChicagosMayor to accept the former @ILNationalGuard building at @fly2midway. @SenPorfirio & Rep. Cuellar worked hard to get this property transferred to Chicago for $1 AND announced today $3M in state funds once we officially accept the building.
@ChicagoCAPS08 covers 10% of the city’s population. The southwest side deserves better from the “Collaborator in Chief.” Stakeholders from Archer Heights, Vittum Park, Clearing, Garfield Ridge, Gage Park, Chicago Lawn and every neighborhood in between want this acquisition to move forward.
Sign the deal now, Mr. Mayor!
Why are you are a racist @ChicagosMayor?
If you’re questioning the legitimacy of that question it’s only because you didn’t expect anyone to ask it. Luckily @Williamjkelly doesn’t care about throwing you soft balls & wants real answers.
@Brandon4Chicago is a racist.
CFD Captain David Meyer served our city for 28 years, responding to calls, battling fires, and saving lives. Today he lost his life in service to our city. May we pray for his family and lift up his fellow firefighters who continue to answer the call.
I support the Felony Review Bypass Program to streamline charges for gun offenders. We need it the 008th District. That's why I drafted a letter and rounded up support in the 008th District to get guns off the streets, offenders in custody, and officers back on the beat faster.
NEW: Chicago City Council is set to vote Wednesday on Mayor Brandon Johnson’s $830M borrowing scheme. The mayor says it’s for infrastructure. But a stealth provision could allow for the mayor to use this borrowing to pay off his largest campaign donor (the Chicago Teachers Union) with a new contract. Here’s how ⬇️
The mayor and Chicago CFO Jill Jaworski say this borrowing package is purely for infrastructure projects. They’ve repeatedly told aldermen and the media that there’s nothing to see here, the critics are acting in bad faith, and this borrowing is business as usual.
The payment terms alone are proof that isn’t true (no payments at all for two years and interest-only payments for 18 years after that).
But this provision, which has not been explained in the Finance Committee or on the floor of City Council, should raise huge red flags.
Specifically, it allows for proceeds of this borrowing to be transferred to a “school district.”
Johnson has two big incentives to use the $830M borrowing plan to flood money into Chicago Public Schools—and not just for infrastructure.
1. CPS is currently in negotiations on a new, record-spending labor contract with the Chicago Teachers Union, Johnson’s largest campaign donor and former employer. CTU President Stacy Davis Gates needs a contract ASAP in order to fend off her opponent in the internal union election for president.
2. CPS is trying to figure out how to make a $175M MEABF payment that it can’t afford and didn’t budget for. And the city’s FY 2024 books need to be closed by the end of March. Those books include the $175M payment. So Johnson needs that covered somehow, or else he will be left with an embarrassing budget deficit, forcing him to scramble for new revenue before the end of March or get hit with another credit downgrade.
So here’s the simple question Jaworski and Johnson must answer before City Council can make an informed vote on their borrowing plan: “Could the proceeds of this borrowing be used to fund the CTU contract or the MEABF payment, directly or indirectly?”
If they can’t answer that simple question, City Council members must vote NO on what amounts to a blank check for the mayor and his largest campaign donor.

"Police murders in the 10th District."
A reference to two CPD shootings in the 10th District, this announcement was posted by Kiisha Smith, chair of the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability for the Ogden District Council (10).
The language in this announcement serves to foment hate for CPD, spread fear and panic about CPD aim and intent, and allows Smith to use an official platform to engage in anti-police activism.
For a member of the @CCPSA_Chicago to refer to Police shootings currently under investigation as "police murders" is a disgrace and a disservice to both the CCPSA and the public it serves.
We'd like to know if @driver4chicago intends to address this inflammatory post and if the CCPSA will take disciplinary action against Smith, including the possibility of removal from the panel.
Dexter Reed opened fire on a @Chicago_Police officer first. CPD rightfully returned fire. This asinine $1.2 million settlement is up before the Chicago City Council's Finance Committee on Monday.
If you care about restoring sanity in our city, contact the Alders on this committee & demand a NO vote. Not one penny! We cannot continue to reward the families of wannabe cop killers.
