Today makes it exactly 2 years since I got to Nigeria and got the shock of my life. A childhood schoolmate and friend who I had trusted, and sent home over 300 Million Naira for an Agro Palm Estate Project, was not who I thought he was.
2 years later the dude is yet to reach out and offer an honest apology, and I am here wondering how much more damage others like me who trust people back home to help build our dreams, while we suffer and send money home from the diaspora, have gone through.
I had good intentions investing back home. That is why I committed over $2.8M over the past few years to set up several businesses that have all turned out a waste. Looking back now, I regret not investing my money in the country where I live.
Recently I came to my senses and realised that taking money from a stable economy like the USA, Canada, or UK to invest it in an unstable economy is the mistake many of us in the African diaspora have been making for years. It has crippled many of us and made it hard to build lasting wealth.
But there is a better way. The Diaspora Wealth Builders Community way, where we advocate that you invest and build wealth in the country you live in, and when you are truly ready to retire home to Africa, you take a part of it and go invest there, where you can be present to monitor it.

🚨 5 key changes for tenants from 1st May 2026 🏠
The new Renters' Rights Act means:
1. Landlords can no longer evict tenants through no-fault evictions - they need a valid reason.
No more bidding wars - landlords can’t ask for more than the advertised rent price.
Landlords can only ask for a maximum of one month’s rent upfront.
Landlords can’t just say no to pets - they must consider requests reasonably.
No more fixed-term tenancy contracts. Rolling contracts will give more flexibility.

“I’m leaving the Labour Party to join the People’s Redemption Party (PRP). I will also work towards producing a Southern Christian presidential candidate within the PRP. I don’t blame Peter Obi for moving to any other party. This government, which is so powerful, has made it their duty to destroy political parties instead of fight!ng insecurity.”
—Former Labour Party 2023 Vice Presidential Candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, announced his defection to the PRP.
I'm bored of saying it, but any Yoruba person reading this should please remember that there will still be life after Tinubu.
His mission to turn you and Igbo people into enemies for the sake of his short-term political interest will only spoil your life for no reason.
LISTEN TO THIS !!
All of you that open your mouth waaah , to say Mr Peter Obi is a pretender.
This was Mr Peter Obi speaking to President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014 .
His consistency is top notch👌.
“One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in life is to stop telling people everything that is wrong with you. It’s a big mistake to think that after explaining what you’re going through, people will offer relief. Later, you may discover that such outpouring achieves little because nobody truly understands the full weight of your problem since they are not there with you. Sometimes, after explaining everything to them, they even start distancing themselves from you.”

A clear view of Blord trying to settle with VDM. To haters who turned supporters, you can all see that Blord and his SAN finally begged VDM to settle out of court.
People will gas you up online, but just learn how to be humble😂😂.
I need to post this before they start pushing another narrative again that VDM bow out of court. For the record: Blord and his SAN begged VDM.
“When Blord was released from prison, I expected him to stay quiet, but social media users keep pushing him. VeryDarkMan has not reached the stage where Blord would be paying him damages. I just pray Blord asks VeryDarkMan for an out-of-court settlement, because it may not end well.”

Sunday Observation From My Daughter
We were having brunch somewhere in Asokoro this morning.
My daughter leaned over with the confidence of a seasoned analyst and said, "Daddy, I have counted 9 iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max in this room."
I asked how she knew. "The camera," she said, and returned to her juice.
I smiled and quickly took a head count and we were about 17 in the room, mostly under 40s.
Then I started thinking, as fathers do when their children are clearly smarter than them.
Those phones cost between ₦2.5 million and ₦4.5 million each. For many young graduates earning ₦150,000 a month, that is one to two years of salary sitting casually on a brunch table in Asokoro.
Now consider this: Nigeria has over 130 million bank accounts — but 99.4% of them hold less than ₦500,000. Fewer than 6 million Nigerians invest in the stock market at all.
Here is what that same phone money — say ₦3 million — would have returned in just seven months if invested instead:
Money Market: ₦3.33 million
NGX 30 (Stock Index): ₦4.40 million
A listed Real Estate Investment Trust: ₦6.51 million
The phone? Worth less than the day it was unboxed.
That room in Asokoro is not Nigeria. It is a bubble. But bubbles tell you something.
We are becoming a society that displays wealth more easily than it builds it. That spends faster than it compounds. That reaches for lifestyle before it reaches for assets.
Nothing wrong with enjoying the fruits of your labour. But a phone depreciates. An equity stake appreciates.
My 12-year-old counted 9 iPhones.
Her father saw one question: alongside the lifestyle, are we also building savings, ownership, and productive assets?
Nations do not grow wealthy on consumption. They grow wealthy on capital formation.

One of the most painful experience I have ever felt was when I went to Abuja last month
I requested uber from my apartment to get food. Trip cost was 2500 naira.
Uber guy arrived and decided to branch filling station to buy fuel before heading to destination… He asked for 5k fuel and I was quite surprised he asked for a fuel that small considering his tank was empty empty. I asked him why so and he said country is hard and he was struggling.
So I asked the fuel guys to fill up his tank which cost approx 70k. In addition to that I also gave him 50k as a gift. He told me I should always feel free to contact him if I ever need a ride and I asked if he was free next day cos my flight was for 7am. He said sure.
Next day he picked me up and dropped me off and to my greatest suprise man asked me to pay double the fare to airport because ‘he picked me up early’
My life flashed twice.
I couldn’t believe what I heard.
Humans are ungrateful and tbh everyday I am reminded that the major reason some people are far from their blessings is simply because they are unwilling to make sacrifices or just simply pain greedy.
Till today I still have that flashback and I get angry over again when I remember it. Not exactly angry because of the money given because I mean I did so with zero expectation and will do so again and again but because it hurts soo much that said young man just lost a beautiful opportunity to know me better and probably get an opportunity to work with me beyond that day.
GREED sealed his fate
It is well.
Why do some Nigerians feel they are doing Peter obi a favor by voting him in??
Niqqa is a millionaire in dollars and can choose to retire in any country of his choice wether he wins or looses.
