@Trackmann2 Investing in intelligence means investing in prevention. Extra resources will help the NIS recruit cybersecurity experts and disrupt terrorist networks before they cause national crises.
@Trackmann2 Kenya cannot afford to compromise its national security. NIS needs adequate funding, modern technology and skilled personnel to stay ahead of emerging threats, disrupt terrorism and protect our sovereignty. Prevention is always better than dealing with a security crisis.
A strong NIS is essential to Kenya’s national security. The reported KSh14 billion shortfall risks weakening intelligence gathering, surveillance and counterterrorism efforts. Investing in intelligence means strengthening early-warning systems, protecting our sovereignty and preventing threats before they become national crises.
@Trackmann2 Investing in NIS is investing in national security. Strong intelligence capabilities help identify threats early, disrupt terrorist networks and prevent security crises before they endanger Kenyans.
@Trackmann2 You’d be surprised how much goes into keeping a country safe. Kenya is dealing with Al-Shabaab, cyber threats, instability in neighbouring countries and all manner of security risks. Most of the work NIS does will never make headlines, and that’s precisely the point.
Investing in National Intelligence Service is investing in prevention. NIS has long detected and stopped threats before they become national crises, quietly, and without publicising them.
A Sh14 billion budget shortfall is now limiting that work. With growing instability in Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan and the region, plus sophisticated threats from Al-Shabaab and other networks, NIS needs stronger early-warning, surveillance and specialised skills in cybersecurity and counterintelligence.
Equipping and training it properly is essential to protecting Kenya’s security.
Kenya did its part by reporting and responding to the outbreak. The question is: why should transparency attract travel restrictions?. Saudi Arabia,
Kenya, Ebola, Travel Restrictions, Public Health #SomeoneTellSaudiArabia
Apparently, reporting Ebola comes with consequences. Kenya disclosed the outbreak and activated containment measures, yet Saudi Arabia responded with Travel Restrictions. Public Health transparency should be encouraged, not punished. #SomeoneTellSaudiArabia
@SaudiEmbassyKE Public health cooperation should reward transparency, not punish it. Kenya reported the Ebola outbreak, activated containment protocols and cooperated with international health authorities. We did not impose travel restrictions on Saudi Arabia when it faced bombing and security threats. Reciprocity, proportionality and science should guide these decisions. #SomeoneTellSaudiArabia
Honest question for the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Kenya @KSAembassyKE: since when is transparency a punishable offense? #SomeoneTellSaudiArabia
Kenya detected an Ebola outbreak, activated containment measures and shared the data with the world. Our reward? Travel restrictions.
Apparently, the lesson for African nations is that doing the right thing comes with consequences. Public health decisions should be guided by science and not panic. We are happy to follow the science and as Kenyans, we just wish the blanket restrictions would. 🇰🇪🤝🇸🇦
Interesting how Kenya's honesty about Ebola has been rewarded with Travel Restrictions from Saudi Arabia. Should African countries hide Public Health challenges to avoid being punished for telling the truth? Transparency should be encouraged. #SomeoneTellSaudiArabia
In closed-door meetings, Kalonzo has made it clear that any deal with Ruto must include a firm commitment that he becomes the President’s running mate in the 2027 general election.

Saudi Arabia, Kenya deserves recognition for reporting Ebola and containing the outbreak. Blanket Travel Restrictions risk discouraging transparency. Surely, Public Health decisions should follow evidence, not fear. #SomeoneTellSaudiArabia
Kenya detected, reported and contained, which is what the IHR asks of every country. Banning the one that discloses teaches the next one to stay quiet. Evidence over fear

@sidequest254 Kenya chose transparency to protect public health, not punishment. We respected Saudi Arabia during difficult times; we deserve the same fairness. Public health demands cooperation, not discrimination. @KSAembassyKE#SomeoneTellSaudiArabia
Kenya chose transparency and international responsibility. The global response should encourage more countries to follow that example. Public health is best protected through trust, cooperation and science.@KSAembassyKE#SomeoneTellSaudiArabia
Kenya chose transparency by disclosing the Ebola outbreak and activating containment measures. Reporting a public health threat should be met with cooperation and support, not travel restrictions that discourage openness. #SomeoneTellSaudiArabia
The blanket travel suspension and visa restrictions imposed by Saudi Arabia on travelers from Kenya are disproportionate, punitive, and unsupported by epidemiological evidence. Saudi Arabia,
