A targeted intelligence operation by the Nigerian military last night led to the arrest of a notorious bandit, Sule Yellow, widely known on TikTok as suleyellow6.

The TikTok account has now been disabled by security forces and is no longer accessible. Earlier this month, however, Sule Yellow was seen on a TikTok Live session, openly appearing alongside other bandits and insurgents while brazenly showcasing their activities.

He was eventually apprehended while returning from collecting a ransom payment for a kidnapped victim. Despite the tough persona he projected online, the situation changed dramatically at the point of arrest. Witnesses say Sule Yellow was visibly shaking and fidgeting, gripped by fear and barely able to speak.

I joined Channels TV to discuss recent issues about the gazetted copies of the new tax laws. To be clear, this is not a legislative versus executive blame game, nor is it politics. It is a process and governance issue.

Tax policy affects citizens directly being at the centre of the social contract, so it must be anchored in trust and facts, not fear or misinformation which only creates uncertainty and further undermines confidence.

The viral document claiming specific alterations to the tax laws and presented as the report of the committee set up to investigate the issue surfaced when the committee had not even met.

Rather than spreading misinformation, we should seize this moment to strengthen our processes, deepen accountability, and build a tax system that moves Nigeria forward.

Rejecting or stalling reform is not a neutral choice. It means preserving a broken system that over-taxes workers, hurts small businesses, sustains multiple and nuisance taxes, and distorts economic growth.

TROOPS OF OPHK DISCOVER IED, ARREST SUSPECTED TERRORIST LOGISTICS SUPPLIERS IN BORNO

Troops of Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, under Operations Desert Sanity IV and V, have recorded further operational successes with the discovery and neutralisation of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and the arrest of suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist logistics suppliers in Borno State.

In one operation, troops of 25 Brigade, while conducting a Main Supply Route (MSR) patrol along the Damboa–Komala axis, discovered an IED on 17 December 2025. The device was promptly secured and successfully detonated by the troops, ensuring the safety of troops and commuters along the route.

In a separate operation based on credible intelligence, troops of OPHK deployed at a checkpoint along the Maiduguri–Bama Road intercepted and arrested a Lagos-registered vehicle with plate number AKD 244 YE on 19 December 2025. The vehicle was conveying large quantities of food items and energy drinks, suspected to be logistics supplies intended for Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists operating around Kirawa Ward, Gwoza Local Government Area.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident. Items recovered include assorted food items and energy drinks, three mobile phones, an identity card, a ring, several sum of cash in Naira and CFA. The suspects, vehicle, and recovered items have been handed over to the appropriate military intelligence unit for further investigation and necessary action.

The Military High Command commended the troops for their impressive efforts and urged them to sustain the operational tempo .The Nigerian military remains resolute in its commitment to denying terrorists freedom of action, disrupting their logistics networks, and ensuring the safety and security of citizens in the North East.

United States of America pledges support for Nigeria’s fight against terrorism

The United States has affirmed its commitment to partnering with Nigeria in the fight against terrorism, after a high-level security meeting at the Pentagon on November 20.

The meeting, hosted by Pete Hegseth, US secretary of war, was attended by a delegation of security leaders from Nigeria led by Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser (NSA).
