Police Bullet Left Me Paralysed, Shattered My Dreams — Ibadan Poly Graduate

On August 16, 2021, Nurudeen Azeez says his life changed forever after he was allegedly hit by a police bullet while returning home. The Ibadan Polytechnic graduate said he had just arrived from Lagos and was heading to his apartment on a motorcycle when he suddenly heard a gunshot and realised he had been shot.

According to Nurudeen, the officer who allegedly shot him asked him to stand up, but he was unable to move. He said the officers left the scene, and it was passersby, along with a colleague who recognised him, that came to his rescue. He says the incident left him paralysed and shattered the dreams he had worked so hard to build.

Today is another day to remind you that the bald eagle shouldn't be found in your logo. An organization's logo should reflect their strength and objectives.

The bald eagle that's currently featured on your logo is not an African bird. It is not found in Nigeria. It is also an opportunistic scavenger and fish eater. Meanwhile, the martial eagle we have in Nigeria is a ferocious hunter that actively hunts aggressive and heavy prey including hyraxes, small jackals, monitor lizards, domestic livestock, and young antelopes weighing considerably more than itself.

The bald eagle doesn't have much going for it beyond American PR. It is comparatively weak and sounds like a weak chicken.

Enugu Air Flight Veers Off Runway at Benin Airport

Enugu Air has confirmed that one of its aircraft operating into Benin Airport experienced a runway excursion after landing today.

According to the airline’s official statement:

“Enugu Air wishes to inform the public that one of our aircraft operating into Benin experienced a runway excursion after landing today.

“We confirm that all passengers and crew have safely disembarked and there were no injuries or casualties.

“The aircraft has been secured and the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with established procedures. An assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the occurrence is currently underway.

“As a result, there may be temporary adjustments to some flight schedules. Passengers affected by any changes will be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance.

“The safety of our passengers, crew, and operations remains our highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to provide updates through our official communication channels.”

BYE-ELECTION: TIME TO SAVE MONEY BY ABOLISHING THIS PROCESS:

1: I suggest that the @NGRSenate and @HouseNGR should amend the 1999 constitution and Electoral Act to allow a political party to NOMINATE a replacement whenever a Serving Senator or Member of the House of Representatives dies, instead of conducting a COSTLY bye-election.

2: Such a provision could significantly reduce the financial burden on the @inecnigeria by eliminating the need for bye-elections in these circumstances.

3: several countries have adopted systems that avoid bye elections for legislative vacancies. @SenGodswill @Senator_Akpabio @Speaker_Abbas
