the fact that she's given so much and has not run out of money really puts into perspective how the arguments against a wealth tax on billionaires are just bs
The top 50 mega-donors already spent over $1.3B on the midterms.
Only 20% of that is for supporting Dems.
9 of the top 10 mega-donors are supporting Republicans.
Last cycle, Elon Musk alone spent $290M supporting Trump and Republicans.
But you wouldn’t know that by reading the Republican-billionaire-owned NY Post.
This is what a system rigged for fascism, backed by propaganda, looks like.
How much billionaires spend in an election isn’t a conversation that should be had in a Democracy — it’s time to overturn Citizens United.
Bernie’s right — it’s not complicated, it’s Democratic Socialism.
Together, we can fight for a true democracy where working people have control over their own lives, their government, and the economy. Workers deserve more than crumbs. We deserve a better world.
WWII Veteran and Purple Heart recipient Robert Hilliard:
"Next week I'll be 101 years old. In February 1944 when I was 18 years old I was inducted into the army and what they taught me to do there was to kill people who set up detention camps. Can you imagine how I felt earlier this year when they announced that one of the future detention camps would be at that same camp landing in Florida? We have a fascist, a fascist government, that allows innocent people to be put in detention camps and incarcerated."

49 year old black woman I met in Harlem at the polls said she voted for Darializa because of this moment
"If he's going to DR three times a year, he's not doing his job"
JFC. If this goes through we are in for a nightmare. If you have common sense and think our food supply should actually have standards, you need to oppose this.
It’s absurd that tech companies are allowed to pass off their electricity costs to residential consumers, and spike everyone’s utility bills.
Nobody screams “socialism” when large corporations socialize their costs and then privatize their profits.
If total surveillance is so beneficial and its objects should not be worry so long as they have nothing to hide, then I suggest total 100 percent video and audio and digital surveillance of all government officials and all executives of private surveillance contractors working for the government 24/7/365 with live feeds on the internet for all to watch.
We gotta stop rewiring settler history to fix boxes of moralism. The founding fathers were slave owning genocidal pedophiles. This is the exact society they wanted to construct that’s why the government still follows their constitution.
Reporter: Do you think Republicans can square their support for ending birthright citizenship with the USMNT whose top scorer is a birthright citizen?
Norman: Those are two separate issues—sports and policy.
PabloReports: Do you think the World Cup coach is taking an American job? He’s from Argentina.
Norman: That’s a separate issue. It doesn’t matter where he’s from.
PabloReports: What if he was a doctor? Or a construction worker?
Norman: That’s two separate issues.
PabloReports: What makes sports different?
Norman: With sports, you gauge on wins and losses. A construction worker is not a specialized field like sports is.
Bill Burr and Adam Lefkoe realize mid-podcast that Shaq might actually be a flat-earther, and cannot let it go.
SHAQ: "You don't think earth is flat?"
LEFKOE: "Do you?!?"
SHAQ: "One time I took a 25-hour flight and the plane never did this. [makes motion with hands] That's all I said. And I stayed up the whole time looking out the window just to make sure."
BURR: "You're going to determine whether it's round or flat by looking out the window? What are the scientists wasting all their time with all of these apparatuses? Just look out the window."
SHAQ: "I just like to ask questions."
I don't really know how to articulate it but the fact that Mr. Beast can do this (privately!) and experience close up what 10k does spiritually for a working dad, and yet he doesn't do this regularly and hasn't sold his things to give to the poor, is indicative of a rotten soul
Poverty increases desperation and social alienation. Feeling connected to the benefits of being a part of a society increases prosocial behavior. Disconnection from those benefits decreases prosocial behavior. Impunity and isolation from normal society because of extreme wealth can also decrease prosocial behavior. Some people are shits regardless of the situation. It’s a game of tendencies and risk factors. We all want to build a society in which people’s work is rewarded and bit of bad luck doesn’t doom someone for life. Extreme inequality makes that harder. This is all pretty well-trodden ground.
