one thing i love abt his acting career is that he never chooses similar roles. instead of playing it safe he keeps trying new things and pushing himself and i think that's what makes supporting him so fun, it never gets boring seeing him discover different sides of himself. even when he was full of doubt like during wangsanam he ended up proving that he could do sm more than he thought he could. seeing him push past his own expectations and discover what he's capable of is so fun to watch 🥹
txt soobin talking about jihoon’s acting in wangsanam during his recent weverse live (rough trans)
“im not sure if it’s okay for me to say this, but actor park jihoon has such a melancholic look to him. he was perfectly cast for that role. honestly, to tell you the truth, i think that if another actor had played that role, it might not have broken my heart so much or made me feel so sorry for him and so sad.
there’s just something sorrowful about actor park jihoon’s eyes, even naturally, and he has this somewhat fragile image to him, someone you just want to protect. so seeing someone like him take on that role made it hit even harder. it made me want to protect him even more.
it really hurt my heart. and in those scenes where actor yoo haejin and actor park jihoon were being all cute and affectionate with each other, i actually cried because of how warm and tender they were. and then, at the very end, the ending... i still remember it so clearly. i cried my eyes out like crazy. i completely lost it back then and just started bawling my eyes out.
i was genuinely so sad. but the friend who went with me was like, ‘why are you being so dramatic? i dont think it was that sad.’ i wasn’t just shedding a few tears, you know. i was literally sobbing uncontrollably right there. i was crying like, ‘waahh haah hahh,’ and my friend was looking at me like, ‘was it really that sad?’ i guess it hits people differently, especially since we already know how the story ends. but for me, it really hit hard. that’s the kind of impression it left on me. i also really enjoyed watching this one. there’s a reason it became a 10 million viewer movie, after all.”
