Someone once said, “The love you receive from someone who knows how to be alone is one of the most sincere kinds of love. A person who is comfortable in their own solitude chooses to love you, not because they need someone to fill a space, but because they genuinely want you in their life.” And honestly, that hits differently. Being loved by choice, not out of loneliness or dependence, is such a beautiful
how to process heavy emotions without intellectualizing every single thing you feel:
- go on long walks without headphones
let your mind wander until the noise starts separating itself from what actually matters
- stop trying to immediately figure out why you feel something. sometimes the feeling just wants to move through you before it can make any sense
- move the energy through your body somehow
walk, stretch, lift, clean, breathe, cry, shake it out. give the emotion somewhere to physically go
- let yourself be bored more often. your intuition gets louder when your brain isn’t constantly being fed someone else’s thoughts
- stop filling every quiet moment with stimulation
no podcast, no scrolling, no background noise. let there be enough silence for your own thoughts to come back
- pay attention to what keeps resurfacing when everything gets quiet. the same idea, the same memory, the same feeling. usually there’s something there asking to be noticed
- create when you feel emotionally charged. write, take photos, cook, make something. sometimes that energy wants to become something instead of being analyzed to death
- spend more time actually noticing the world around you. the light, the trees, the shadows, the air, the tiny details. presence pulls you out of your head and back into your life
- let yourself move slower without making it mean you’re falling behind. sometimes doing less gives your nervous system enough room to soften and your mind enough room to catch up
- trust that clarity doesn’t always come from thinking harder. sometimes you literally just need to walk, breathe, exist for a little while, and let the answer find you
I love this advice from a psychologist that I read a while ago- “if you’re an anxious person, do everything for fun. Start a blog, go to an interview- for fun. Anxiety feeds on importance. Don’t make everything a matter of life and death”
I can never unlearn it now.
Someone once told me something along the lines of "you've gotta do your best everyday, but remember that your best is going to look DIFFERENT every day". & it's one of the most healing things I've heard to this day bc it reminds me not to put too much pressure on myself.
La manera en la que este TikTok me sanó… cómo q no tengo q tratarme a mí misma como un proyecto de mejora continuada? Como q no tengo q ser cada día un poco más lista un poco más guapa etc? Wow
I think one of the nicest parts of growing older is becoming less concerned with what a good life should look like and more attentive to what a good life feels like to me.
Trust me on this: Possibility expands when you move. You meet someone because you went. Discover something because you tried. Find an opportunity because you asked. The world reveals doors to people in motion that remain completely invisible to people standing still.
i think it's beautiful how life gives you infinite chances to experience better. just when you think you'll never find better, you walk right into better and your heart softens again
Sometimes “locking in” looks like sitting in the sun and remembering that your life is also meant to be lived, not just optimized, monetized, and turned into proof that you’re worthy.
My therapist dropped a gem: you can't spend your life avoiding heartbreak or bad things from happening. You have to condition yourself to have appropriate emotional responses but learn to keep moving forward.
