Meet Breeze ❤️
We need your help. Breeze was apparently on the streets for 5yrs but we are not sure this is accurate as the vet thinks he’s only around 5yrs, not old as we were told.
It’s hard to know and that’s why concentrating on age is sometimes a waste of time 🥴
Breeze is struggling and won’t leave his area. It’s early days but actually we are not convinced we can turn this around from a kennel.
We just need you to share and help find an experienced home so that he doesn’t shut down completely and live here for years 🙏🏻

You may remember the other day we told you about Ethel and Mildred, who arrived together.
We were initially told that both were very old dogs.
Then, rather embarrassingly, we discovered that Ethel—who now has a very old-lady name—was actually only three!
We worked this out more or less from her spay, as her uterus was still very small.
Well, Mildred went in to be spayed today. Like Ethel, she was covered in lumps, bumps and tumours. But this time, it has been confirmed that she really is old! So at least we got one right. 😂
Mildred is around 10 years old, a lovely Galgo mix, and she is now looking for a home.
She is absolutely wonderful, and all of her tumours have been removed.

ITALIA HAS ARRIVED AT GALGOS DEL SOL! 🐾❤️
Meet Italia! And yes… we called her Italia in the hope that you might look at her and think, “Ooh, an Italian Greyhound!” 😂
Now, we’re not entirely convinced she actually is one… but if calling her Italia makes you think she might be, and that helps her find a home quicker, then we’re absolutely going with it! 😉
Italia is around 10 months to 1 year old, incredibly friendly, sweet and affectionate, and weighs just 7.5 kg.
She’s a tiny little bundle of love who is ready to find her forever family.
Come on… what’s not to love? ❤️
Let’s get this little girl into a loving home. 🏡🐶

NIÑA is over ten years old and was recently handed over by a Galguero.
He just didn’t want her anymore.
Too old.
She came with many ticks and the flies won’t leave her alone.
Can we share and find this older lady a home ASAP?

Nene is deep down a gentle girl but from behind bars she’ll try to scare you away.
Once inside the kennel tho she turns into a marshmallow.

WHAT HAPPENED TO MOCHI?
Mochi is 7yrs old and terrified of everyone human that comes near.
Half her life taken up with anxiety and fear.
It won’t be easy finding such a scared girl a home so if you can share it would help her immensely 🙏🏻
No dog should be this frightened 😞

Primero came from the perrera. We took him as he was getting bullied constantly.
His body is covered in scars and the perrera workers said he got picked on a lot.
Now he’s a really happy playful boy with just one other dog. He’s fabulous.
Approx 5yrs old he’s ready for a home and will fit in anywhere 🩷

New boy Silver was found on the streets.
He’s around 8yrs old, super sweet and calm but a little bit shy with more boisterous dogs.
I’m sure that will pass quickly tho.

Peekaboo!
Shivers has been here a while probably because she’s a shy girl.
She’s got the looks for sure 😍
She’s 5yrs old and scared of most things however we’ve seen a big improvement recently out on her walks.
Shivers needs a home with other confident steady dogs and it won’t be long before she’s absolutely fine.
She’s just got blocked here in the kennels and needs a fresh start.

Lupa is yet another hunting dog that was abandoned when too old.
Yes, she’s 12yrs old and now looking for her forever home.
Lupa sleeps a lot but when up and about is quite active.
I wouldn’t say she’s a plodder like some 12yr olds, she wants to sniff and run around.
She would definitely have the energy for plenty of adventures yet.
Lupa can get a bit protective over things like her bed. She can just give a gentle grumble.
These things are always hard to figure out in a kennel environment but when in a home I wouldn’t be spoiling her too much too quickly. Perhaps a tendency for some resource guarding.
Lupa is loving, wants to be loved and needs her forever home.

Filbert says he’s fed up of waiting for a home.
He’s heard all about the sweet life and he thinks it’s time he had a taste of it.
Filbert is 4yrs old and was a bit shy when he came.
He’s still cautious but is doing well now.
He’s a fuzzy boy with a Roman nose… what’s not to love? 😍

Kim and Sue are two greyhounds (not galgos) that have been bred from Irish greyhounds (we were told) here in Spain.
They have a tattoo in one ear but look like Spanish tattoos, unreadable.
These girls were taken to a shelter in Murcia by their owner. The shelter then asked us for help.
We went to do a keyhole spay on Kim a few days ago as her bloods were all set and she had a terrible reaction that almost killed her.
She had extreme tachycardia. Luckily the vet got her off quickly and managed to save her.
We did a follow up scan with a heart specialist and her heart is ok so her heart was not the reason for this reaction but more a reaction to the pharmaceuticals.
For this reason we are not going to spay her or Sue. We just can’t risk it. This would be the first time adult dogs go into adoption without being spayed and it’s kind of weird for us.
Both Kim and Sue were born in 2024 according to the chip and are absolutely adorable ❤️
Both calm and non complaining but love a little sprint around at playtime.
Both are still in quarantine because we haven’t got the space at the moment and they never complain about the small space but show they are grateful for park time.
Absolutely perfect girls that would suit a quiet life, be fine in an apartment as long as they got plenty of walks and a fenced space to run or off course a home with a garden.
They are super chilled. We need to make sure an adopter really takes it seriously that they will not be offlead or given the chance to be taken by someone that might have intentions of breeding.
These girls need to be kept extra safe.
Who’s in for sharing? Or even better… adopting? 🙏🏻❤️
P.S our vets are aware that Greyhounds are particularly sensitive to anesthesia and know the protocol.

Tiger 🐯 is 3yrs old and recently came from a perrera where he had already spent most of his life.
He’s an absolutely amazing lad ❤️
Walks great on a lead, calm with other dogs, not too excitable, not too slow, just a nice balance for a home looking to add an easy one.
These big boys rarely get seen and it’s sad because they are amazing.
We are inundated for homes for little Wobbles which is understandable but imagine our frustration when the world wants ‘one’ and can’t see the absolute gems that are these wonderful boys.
These boys have just had to survive, get on with it, accept little attention, they learn to just do it by themselves.
When you win their love you’ve won more than a lottery 💕
