The Butterfly Mother(蝴蝶媽媽) originates from the folklore of the Miao ethnic group in China, and is regarded as an ancestor of the Miao people.
According to legend, she transformed from an ancient maple tree and fell in love with the bubbles on the water, eventually laying 12 eggs. After being carefully incubated by the Jiyu bird, she gave birth to 12 brothers after 12 years, including Jiangyang, Thunder God, Dragon, Tiger, Snake, Elephant, and Ox. Jiangyang is considered the ancestor of the Miao people, while Butterfly Mother is seen as the progenitor of the Miao.

🍁Autumn has arrived and the maple leaves are turning stunningly red.🍁 This beautiful painting by Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) artist Zhou Chen (1460-1535) vividly captures the spirit of Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet Du Mu’s poem about autumn. In Zhou’s illustration, travelers pause in awe at a majestic maple tree, spellbound by the vibrant scenery.

Labour MP, @TorstenBell, has defended the fact we don't have a #WealthTax because it wouldn't raise “significant revenues."
Just a 2% tax on assets over £10 million would raise £24 billion. Let that sink in.

The immortal Jimeng (計蒙) is a supernatural being from Chinese folklore with a unique appearance. He is described as having the body of a man but the head of a dragon. Jimeng is often said to reside in the depths of the Zhang River (漳淵), where he swims and dwells.
Whenever Jimeng enters or leaves the Zhang River, it is accompanied by a violent storm.

Hey, SF writers. A request to make.
Normally it's unethical to discuss a story we didn't buy. But years later, there's "one that got away" I still think about, and I REALLY wonder who wrote it.
Did YOU write about space snails taking over the anglican church?
