Right now, there are brave folks striking at Harper Collins, NYU, the New School, and the UC System. Yes, I support them. What folks want are livable wages. No one wants to strike. Folks strike because there is strength in unity, and because they have tried all else.
Tell me how people -- especially people of color -- are supposed to save their money if people are then fined (or, god forbid, have their money surrendered to the state!) for saving it "wrong." (5/5)
I rolled my eyes and transferred $50 into my account. But not everyone has that privilege. (Especially after this past year.) As of 2017, the median net worth of a Black person in Boston was $7. (4/5)
I can either make a withdrawal or make a deposit to keep active and avoid this fee. The government tells people to save money. Republicans like to tout that people should have self-responsibility and save their money. (3/5)
The letter indicates that per NY State guidelines if an account continues to be inactive for 36 months, it's ultimately subject to surrender to NY State. (!)
Per my bank's guidelines, "inactive" accounts are subject to a $50 yr fee. (2/5)
Today in economic injustices: I got a letter from my bank, one I have banked with for 20 years (!!) telling me that because I have not made a deposit or withdrawal in 12 months my account has been flagged as inactive. MY SAVINGS ACCOUNT, where I am putting money to SAVE it. (1/4)
@iansmithfitness@krispykreme@TheAtilisGym THIS IS NOT HOW A VIRUS WORKS. A lot of healthy people who exercise and have a healthy diet got Covid. You can't exercise your way out of it, bro. This is irresponsible to the extreme.
@iansmithfitness Because some people CAN'T get it, if you have a particularly weakened immune system, for example or an allergy you may not be able to receive a vaccine. So vaccinating yourself helps those who CAN'T receive it.
It is truly sad and dangerous that only 7 Republicans voted to convict a president who is promoting a Big Lie, conspiracy theories and violence, and is aggressively trying to destroy American democracy.
The current vaccine rollout plan was created without any input/coordination with local boards of health or municipal leaders. It assumes that every person has access to technology to make an appointment and a car to drive to a mass vaccination site. Equity?
Hey, hello, hey, we’re starting lunch in Kendall Square TOMORROW! And brunch on Saturday and Sunday. https://t.co/2wCwv7kHdA
I will send a compliment to every person who RTs this. Do not embarrass me and not RT it. That won’t work for anyone.
