@KKerner24 2) ask easy/basic questions calmly. Someone told me something in their brain hears and wants to respond even if they’re not awake/totally conscious. We would say “do you know your name? Do you know where you are?” And shockingly it did often work (not every single time).
@KKerner24 Two tips that worked for us:
1) don’t let them get over tired. If in doubt see if you can make bedtime earlier by 15-30 min. If they are particularly/unusually physically active in a given day might need to do even earlier if possible.

@clhubes You may not see this but a compromise my kids’ day care crew settled into was no “real” gifts but a homemade card or drawing and maybe a balloon or $1 bubble tube. Practice the art of giving and receiving, minimal expense/clutter!
@Superjules@grace134 You don’t have to be done! Mine were 33 and 27 months and both times I loved it until I didn’t and then I knew it was time. If you’re both still good, it’s good!
