I would add that nearly every reporter I worked with over the span of the last nearly six years has been phenomenal and excelled at being trauma informed. From national outlets to local, the journalists have consistently shown great care.

@korinreid I think sometimes they are preying on women in what they view as a vulnerable situation. I had a man approach me when I was pregnant with #2 and say, he "would provide for me and make sure I had everything I needed." Lol. I was like...so confused.

@EzerRising Learning that it was an option. That sounds crazy. Lol. Everything had been presented to me in a way that I legitimately believed God didn't love me like he loved the boys/men. I sobbed for hours after realizing how untrue that was. In reality I was never comp. Just hiding.

So many of us learned to regulate our nervous systems by shaming ourselves. Maturity is learning how to regulate without leaving part of yourself in the corner.

Love regulates us longer than shame.

I don’t even know where to begin with what we need to learn from this situation with Josh Duggar. If you haven’t paid attention to updates, you should, because it is a glaring example of the problems we have in our legal system, and especially in conservative culture.
