On Oct. 24, 2000, the X-35A took flight for the first time. While the flight only lasted 30 minutes, the aircraft climbed to an altitude of 10,000 feet and accomplished a series of flight test requirements. #ThrowbackThursday
#OTD 20 years ago the predecessor to the F-35, the X-35A, took its first flight as part of the Joint Strike Fighter competition.
Today, more than 570 F-35s are flying at 26 bases across nine nations.

76 years ago on D-Day, Col James Earl Rudder leads the 🇺🇸 2nd Ranger Group up the cliffs of Point Du Hoc. Years later, General Rudder would become Pres of Texas A&M. Rudder Tower & Plaza are named after him.

Trump just made an interesting point. Is it wrong to call Lyme Disease Lyme Disease, which is named after its place of origin, Lyme, CT? Or is it somehow anti-Connecticut to call it that? Or will people who say Trump should not call it China virus stop calling it Lyme Disease?
