A gay couple took over the post office in New Longton not long ago. They've received some homophobic abuse. Tonight the villagers turned out in solidarity. The world can still be a beautiful place.
@RupertLowe10 Not remotely. Couldn't care less. I'm sick of this culture war bullshit from the likes of you but, generally, content with my life and don't feel the need to get irate about stuff I can't change.
@RupertLowe10 These people you say can work but are lazy and don't want to work - are you going to force employers to give them jobs, whether they want to or not? And if not, what then? Let them starve?
@Jakkiell@ZackPolanski The fact is this policy is not only inhumane but, unless you're going to start mandating the inspection of genitals upon entering the facilities, completely unworkable, too.
@Lalwendeboggart@basilthegreat Manchester also ditched its Christmas lights switch on - partly because it was a massive crush, but mostly because it was a waste of money. I guess because we don't have a Muslim mayor it was not deemed notable. ๐
@VictoriaCoren@Glinner I think it's better to go back to ignoring him, Victoria. As Bernard Shaw said: never wrestle with a pig - you'll get dirty and the pig likes it.
I love this uncharacteristically girlie girl photo of my sister I just came across and the way it has faded into delicious pinkness. Would have been taken in that late 1960s.
I remember the first time I heard this - it was in Retro Bar in Westminster. This (at the time) 34 year old gay boy lost his shit (in a good way). Still sounds amazing 20 years later.
I met Benjamin Zephaniah in 1987, when I was about 16 - our brilliant English teacher, Mrs Beckett, to us all to see him reading some poetry. Afterwards, he hung out with us for a bit. It was life changing. He's really much missed, so this really hits the spot for me.
Time to take on the Daily Mail and this Labour Government.
Let's keep growing our movement with the joy of knowing we all deserve so much better - and we can make it happen.

It's a long watch but it is so worth it. Polanski is brilliant here. Never thought I'd ever join a political party again, but that's exactly what has now happened!
@GaymerChat I'd 100% tell them I'd overheard them saying that. Not in a confrontational way, just very matter of factly. I'd say I'm still happy to help them but would totally understand if they'd rather ask someone with a less annoying voice to help them.
