Statement.
This account was set up in 2014. Set up to connect myself on twitter as a local candidate for the party that is shown.
Since 2015 I have had "no political allegiance", for reasons of my own
I have retained the "name", purely to inspire conversation with "opposition"
There has been a lot of commentary, and unfortunately, quite some politicisation about Staffordshire libraries in recent days.
Let me first make one point very clear:
No books have been removed from your library shelves.
No authors have been pulled from the catalogue.
No titles have been placed off-limits.
Every resident of this county can still walk into their library, borrow what they want, reserve what they want, request what they want — exactly as before.
Anyone saying otherwise is not telling you the truth.
Our new Staffordshire County Council Libraries Strategy 2026–2028 will focus on core services and will no longer use taxpayer-funded resources, sites and communications channels to promote any particular group, cause or identity.
That applies consistently to every group and every cause.
Your library services belong to everyone in Staffordshire equally. They are not there to promote or privilege particular groups, causes or identities, however well-intentioned. As such, Pride events will no longer be promoted in our public libraries.
A library in Staffordshire should feel like it belongs to a pensioner in Rugeley, a devoutly religious person in Cannock, a child in Lichfield, a farmer in the Moorlands or a student in Stafford, equally and without bias of any kind.
Individuals, charities, businesses and community organisations remain entirely free to organise and promote any lawful cause they choose. We are not seeking to prevent that.
However, Staffordshire's public resources will no longer be used to promote any cause or campaign in a way that prevents us from treating every resident equally, without fear or favour.
I must add, we are investing £5 million to keep all of your 43 libraries open and to turn them into vibrant community hubs for every resident, in every community. Cllr Hayley Coles, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member with responsibility for libraries, has worked tirelessly on this policy over the past 12 months, scrutinising existing arrangements and helping develop a new library strategy that puts Staffordshire residents first. Cllr Coles' focus has been on ensuring our libraries remain relevant, while delivering genuine value for money and reflecting the priorities of the communities they serve.
I will be very clear: this is not about silencing any group of people. It is about reasonable limits to make sure publicly funded services remain balanced, fair and suitable for all users, at all times, as well as a good use of taxpayers' money.
Our libraries exist for everyone in Staffordshire.
Cllr Martin Murray
If the government aren't able to protect its people, then surely the people are just a cash cow funding their inadequacies.
Why are we not marching to parliament and demanding this treacherous governments, removal?
This photo of police DEI training was leaked years ago.
They do not need to prove hatred.
They do not refer to a legal definition of hostility.
Unfriendliness to migrants can be interpreted as racial hostility.
This veteran was absolutely battered by our scum police force for doing NOTHING.
He has been remanded in custody for doing NOTHING.
He refused to come up from the cells to the court because he was black and blue and he didn't want his wife and family to see him like it.
They gave him no medical help whilst being in the cells he was kicked in the head 4 times and battered with their shields, there is clear video evidence of this.
STARMER this is on you, you fucking piece of shit.
@AndyCharlesII To @SpeechUnion
Please may I pay the FSU membership fee for this man, held in custody after being savagely beaten by Police? For sitting on a wall?
If he agrees to my payment
And if I did, would you be able then to act for him?
Best wishes

THEO VON: “Was there anybody who was immune to COVID-19?”
DR. MCCULLOUGH: “There’s one adult group. You’re going to laugh.”
[Theo Von listens closely for the reveal]
DR. MCCULLOUGH: “Smokers… They got very mild cases. And they don’t get long COVID.”
THEO VON: “Why?”
MCCULLOUGH: “Because smokers maintain a level of nicotine in the bloodstream… Smoking blocks the spike protein. It’s amazing. I thought smokers were going to go down.”
THEO VON: “Do you think that’s a good idea [to use nicotine patches] on a regular basis?”
DR. MCCULLOUGH: “I think [it’s a good idea] if they have long COVID... Nicotine, don’t forget, is a nootropic. A nootropic is a drug that makes the brain function more effectively... It’s addictive, but it’s not harmful to the human body... Nicotine patches are perfectly safe.”
Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and is a direct threat to the United Kingdom.
Yet weeks after the murderous Iranian regime slaughtered tens of thousands of its own citizens, UK Foreign Office officials attended an event celebrating the Iranian revolution and regime.
Now, the Labour government is refusing to answer questions about this event or explain how this was allowed to happen. They are once again covering up the facts and running away from all scrutiny.
The UK Foreign Secretary should explain to the public why she is happy for her civil servants to go to events hosted by the Ayatollah’s regime while Iran conducts state-sponsored threats and hostile activities in Britain, Iran puts British citizens in harm’s way in the Middle East, and Iran murders its own citizens.
Labour has weakened Britain’s standing on the world stage and is putting our national security at risk.

A long time ago, I was in a Space with a lady who’d been the practice manager at a firm in Stirling(shire?) where Sturgeon worked. She said Sturgeon was effectively sacked, ie resigned before sacking. Malpractice, in a distressing case of domestic abuse and stalking, where Sturgeon left the victim in limbo and failed to protect her because she was too lazy/incompetent to file complaints and submit legal aid applications. IIRC, the solicitor taking up the case after Sturgeon found the unsent legal aid forms in the client’s folder after Sturgeon left.

I’m banned from entering the UK to report on Tommy Robinson’s rally.
So I’m fighting back:
* sending another journalist
* suing their Prime Minister
* and a third thing they’ll really hate!
Check out my plan in this video or at https://t.co/A1HVDij0EA!
If you are old enough to remember driving in Britain in the 1980s, you will remember the windscreen.
You could not see through it by July. A journey from Leeds to London in August ended with a front bumper that looked like it had been through a war and a windscreen that needed a proper scrubbing with a sponge at the services. Insects on the headlights. Insects in the wing mirrors. Insects packed into the radiator grille so densely that mechanics had to fish them out. This was simply the weather of the British summer, the cost of moving through a country that was still, in living memory, full of flying things.
Get in a car now. Drive the same route. Stop at the services.
The windscreen is clean.
The Bugs Matter survey, run by Kent Wildlife Trust and Buglife since 2004, has been measuring exactly this. Volunteers clean their numberplate, drive a journey, count the splats on a grid. Between 2004 and 2021, the UK average fell by roughly 59 per cent. England alone: 65. Kent: over 70. The 2024 update found a further 63 per cent drop on top of that.
The windscreen phenomenon has the data to back it up now.
And not just the insects. Between 1970 and 2024, the UK Farmland Bird Index fell by 62 per cent. Turtle doves down 99. Grey partridge down 94. Tree sparrow down 90. A generation of British children has grown up without ever hearing a turtle dove call, because there are, in functional terms, no turtle doves left to call.
Defra's own bulletin lists the causes without embarrassment. Loss of mixed farming. The switch from spring to autumn sowing, which took away the winter stubble the small birds had been feeding on since the Neolithic. The grubbing up of hedgerows to make fields bigger for bigger machines. Increased fertiliser. Increased pesticide.
Specifically, the pesticides. Neonicotinoids on oilseed rape. Glyphosate sprayed as a pre-harvest desiccant on wheat and barley. Chemicals applied in combinations and volumes that would have seemed psychotic to a farmer in 1950, applied to grow the crops that feed directly into the plant-based shakes marketed to people who believe they are helping the environment.
The insects died in the fields where the crops were grown. The birds that used to eat the insects, starved. The windscreen, accordingly, is clean.
None of this happened on the permanent pasture that cattle graze. A herb-rich meadow grazed by cattle has more pollinators, more ground-nesting birds, more beetles, more everything per hectare than the arable field next door. The South Downs and the Welsh uplands and the Cotswold commons where sheep and cattle have been grazing for a thousand years are the places British biodiversity is still, just, holding on.
The countryside did not empty because of the cow.
It emptied because we replaced the cow with the combine harvester, the meadow with the oilseed rape, and the hedgerow with another half-acre of monoculture that needed spraying fourteen times a season to keep it alive.
When someone tells you eating a steak is destroying British wildlife, ask them what was on the field before it became the soy farm, the rape farm, the wheat farm that produced the oat milk in their fridge.
It was grass.
And on the grass, there were cattle.
And when the cattle were there, the windscreen needed cleaning.
This is probably the best answer I've ever heard to the question, "Why did God create evil?"
A professor at the university asked his students the following question:
“Everything that exists was created by God?”
One student bravely answered:
“Yes, it was created by God.”
The professor asked :
“If God created everything, then God created evil, since it exists. And according to the principle that our deeds define ourselves, then God is evil.”
The student became silent after hearing such an answer. The professor was very pleased with himself. He boasted to students for proving once again that faith in God is a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said:
“Can I ask you a question, professor?”
"Of course," replied the professor.
“Professor, is cold a thing?”
“What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you ever been cold?”
Students laughed at the young man's question.
The young man answered:
“Actually, sir, cold doesn't exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is actually the absence of heat. A person or object can be studied on whether it has or transmits energy.
Absolute zero (-460 degrees Fahrenheit) is a complete absence of heat. All matter becomes inert and unable to react at this temperature. Cold does not exist. We created this word to describe what we feel in the absence of heat.”
The student continued:
“Professor, does darkness exist?”
“Of course it exists.” said the professor.
“You're wrong again, sir. Darkness also does not exist. Darkness is actually the absence of light. We can study the light but not the darkness. We can use Newton's prism to spread white light across multiple colors and explore the different wavelengths of each color. You can't measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into the world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you tell how dark a certain space is? You measure how much light is presented. Isn't it so? Darkness is a term man uses to describe what happens in the absence of light.”
In the end, the young man asked the professor:
“Sir, does evil exist?”
This time it was uncertain, the professor answered:
“Of course, as I said before. We see him every day. Cruelty, numerous crimes and violence throughout the world. These examples are nothing but a manifestation of evil.”
To this, the student answered:
“Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist for itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is like darkness and cold—a man-made word to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not faith or love, which exist as light and warmth. Evil is the result of the absence of Divine love in the human heart. It’s the kind of cold that comes when there is no heat, or the kind of darkness that comes when there’s no light.”
