@thsottiaux On macOS the Codex desktop app often causes syspolicyd to eat the CPU alive. Specially on my work machine which has SentinelOne, which also likes eating the CPU alive. 50-250 load average on an 11-core M3 Pro is common… lol
@durreadan01 The reason devs adopt new technologies on iOS so fast is simply user upgrade rates for new major OS versions compared to Android.
iOS sees 25-45% of users upgraded after 1 month, and 80-90% after 12 months. Android has 1-3% and 10-20% at those same points respectively.
@durreadan01 While many apps have already been updated to support Liquid Glass, that screenshot is from Slack, which has NOT been updated with any support for Liquid Glass yet, except for the app icon back in July.
@avdi I use Emacs, but Shopify’s Ruby LSP is available there too, and is equally useless. I still use solargraph for Ruby. It has its flaws, but it does generally work and provide completions. And it also supports format operations via Rubocop, which I use for format on save.
This Friday I'm going to do another podcast streamy thing for the 20th anniversary of MAX PAYNE 2 (oh my goddddddd) hosted by @fraeon, ft @jimeh
I hope fellow Max Payne enjoyers come hang out with us 😊

Signal President Meredith Whittaker says the Online Safety Bill will cause "unprecedented paradigm-shifting surveillance" - in a discussion with @cathynewman and former UK Tech minister Damian Collins.
@JakeBuildsStuff Personally the longest I’ve ever been awake was around 71-72 hours, but importantly, not for work. And I’ve done a couple of 70 hour stretches with only about 1-2 hours of sleep while traveling. But no code was involved. And it was all before I turned 22… lol
@amiridis lol… I know the feeling. I gave up a long time ago, and now I just try and modify the internet to my liking on device. I even use Dark Reader on all my devices to make every website have a dark mode.
The guitar and piano aren't that harmonious though, and I told ChatGPT as much also asking if it could fix it. It started writing out what it claimed was a more harmonious variant, but then just froze up halfway through. So no clue if it could fix it or not... lol
