@lukedsimmons@ryanvisconti Or how absolutely awful they can be! We never had children’s church when I was growing up. We learned discipline—sit still, be quiet, listen. If a small child cried or made too much noise, a parent took them out to minimize disruption. Others were understanding of the situation.
@Skyline_Chili@amazon Bring back Mountain Dew. I love Coke and I love Skyline, but they do NOT go together. I have tried but will have to bring my own beverage or not eat Skyline anymore.

@UIndy historians Krista Kinslow, Mathieu Billing, and I joined Nicole Etcheson in presenting our research at the Nineteenth Century Studies Association meeting in Louisville, Kentucky. It was fun and interesting to see how our work fit together even with different topics.
@CivilWarJon Thanks, Carl Sandburg! His biography is the source of this quote. Morton DID seem paranoid at times and badgered Lincoln with his fear and advice. But he was not always wrong. Is it paranoia if somebody is really out to get you?

@jbf1755 Dickson Bruce’s And They All Sang Hallelujah: Plain-Folk Camp-Meeting Religion is an older but accessible (& brief) example of a historian using social science methodology. My students have always found it readable & it has made them think about religion & historical methods.
@adamwren Holcomb is too-close-for-comfort with Rainwater syphoning off conservative voters. This is payback for his loyalty to the administration. Covid policy backlash against the governor is worrisome for Republicans who want a sweep in Pence’s home state.
@shellawish All to help the Republican incumbent governor who went from an easy landslide reelection to “better be worried” because of backlash against his Covid policies. This about helping Eric Holcomb. @adamwren
