El Pais is a serious newspaper in Spain, amongst the 3 most read press outlets in the country, with over 1M readers (digital+paper).
They usually cover culture & art at the weekend. Politics is their strong suit.
The journalist had good questions, imo. It’s their interviewing style. Instead of questions they present affirmations and let the interviewee “react” to them.
More inducing to a conversation, less of an interrogation 👍🏻
