I think that there have to be many more safeguards built in than the extremists on the trans lobby acknowledge, on matters like women's prisons and very specific safe spaces (women's refuges etc).
That does not mean I support the bigoted persecution of all trans people and denial of their identity and right to participate in public life.

International security is defined primarily by the security competition, as security for one can be insecurity for another. All our actions have consequences. Deny Russia a voice in European institutions where it can defend its security interests, and Russia will then rely on its military to defend its security interests. Expand NATO and expect a pushback. Develop Strategic Missile Defence that can enable a first-strike, and Russia develops hypersonic missiles. Topple the government in Kiev and hijack Ukrainian intelligence agencies to push Russia out of its Black Sea Fleet base, and Russia seizes Crimea. Attack Russian civilian vessels in the Black Sea, and Russia will seize Odessa. Go after Russia's "shadow fleet" and Russia will defend it with military force. Attack Russia with Taurus missiles, and Russia will attack German logistic centres and arms production. Security competition and uncontrolled escalation used to be common sense, and we would discuss these things like normal people to maximise our own security. Yet, we live in the age of ideological fundamentalists - one side is good and the other is evil, and merely recognising the security competition and escalation ladder is condemned as "legitimising" the evil opponent and spreading propaganda. Ideology, stupidity, incompetence and arrogance are our greatest enemies today.

My opinion, FWIW is that the GC movement being so tethered to right wing thinking and some rather bigoted rhetoric (see the rampant Islamophobia) is a part of why NHS Fife largely won that battle.

I’m absolutely shocked by what I’m seeing Europeans write on X right now. They’re preaching that Ukraine must “keep fighting” and that Trump’s peace plan is terrible. Where on earth are you fighting? In the restaurants of Paris and Vienna? Ukrainians are the ones fighting and dying. They are being grabbed off the streets in violation of every basic right and forced into a meat grinder. Half a million men have deserted.
Zelensky and Yermak are drowning in corruption, and what has become public is barely 1% of what’s actually happening.

Ukraine is a dictatorship. There is no political process, no elections, no freedom of speech. Anyone who disagrees is labeled a Kremlin agent and faces repression - even their families.

What “continuation of the war” are you talking about? The EU has paid Russia €124 billion more for energy than it has given in aid to Ukraine. And you know perfectly well that Ukraine cannot defeat a military-state of 140 million people with nuclear weapons. This is pure hypocrisy. You want to use Ukraine to weaken Russia, fully aware that this will not end well for Ukraine. And you absolutely do not care about the Ukrainian people.

Yes, we are not a successful country. We are corrupt, and half the population still has a Soviet mentality. But you are not even giving Ukraine a chance to bring a real leader to power - someone who could transform the country, make it democratic, capitalist, and prosperous. That is not beneficial to you. And you know perfectly well that Ukraine will never be accepted into NATO, yet you keep repeating this mantra.

This is the globalist agenda - and it has no place for the happiness or future of Ukraine.
Today, the only real hope left is President @realDonaldTrump and the United States.

This inability for nuance on such an important topic is NOT helpful. I agree re racism & agree EVERYONE has to be kept safe, but this ham-fisted approach to the trans conversation will cause us to lose. Why can't there be a THIRD option to protect trans rights AND to have sensible safeguarding in place, that recognises FEMALES millenia of being targeted on the basis of their biology & recognition of what predatory men have taken advantage of?! That's NOT about being transphobic, it's recognising that predatory people can take advantage of situations, so there needs to be some protections in vulnerable settings such as prisons & refuges, we HAVE to be able to have sensible conversations around this. A biological man CANNOT identify into the millenia of targeting & oppression of females anymore then a white person could identify into the oppression of a black person. Equally, a female who identifies as a women cannot understand the struggles a transperson has. It is unkind, unfair & UNREASONABLE to pit one vulnerable group against another. If they do this, we will LOSE! Frankly I'm tired again of biological men telling me as a female that I have NO right to ask also to be protected! This binary approach is NOT emotionally intelligent, truly compassionate or tolerant & a biological man has NO business demanding this of us & nor does @zarahsultana.
