¡Jimin no va a parar! Tengo más de 9 años siendo su fan y nunca lo he visto conformarse con lo mínimo. Nunca.
There is one scene in 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible that feels completely different today.
Nirmal Purja had already conquered six of the fourteen peaks. Eight mountains were still waiting for him. Before continuing his mission, he returned home to meet his mother.
While he spoke about his dream, about doing something bigger than himself—for Nepal—his mother quietly broke down in tears. She didn’t say much. She simply looked at her son, and cried.
When I watched this scene before, I saw a mother worried about her son.
Watching it today, after yesterday’s heartbreaking news, I see something else.
Maybe it’s just the way grief changes our eyes… but it almost feels as if a mother’s heart had already read the ending that the rest of the world couldn’t see.
Nims Dai was chasing history. His mother was simply praying to keep her son safe.
Some dreams make a nation proud.
Some sacrifices leave a mother with a silence no words can ever fill.
Rest in peace, Nims Dai. 🇳🇵🕊️
My deepest condolences to every climber, rescuer, and family affected by the Broad Peak tragedy. You will all be remembered.
