Downtown L.A. businesses and residents are frustrated with conditions there and are begging for more political support for the neighbhorhood. https://t.co/sT6Y4O1pBe
@DTLA4A@Cassy_Horton@cd14losangeles This project would be devasting to activating the historic theaters. The “dress rehearsal” for the Broadway Streetscape already hurt loading and access. Shame on Metro for hiding their plans and not outreaching to the community. Broadway needs more pedestrians not rapid transit!
LA's proposed SB 79 standards have dropped...
For 1/2 mile from a T2 transit stop, they allow 10 units with 2 FAR, with max height of 2 stories.
It's physically impossible to fit 2 FAR in 2 stories.
In fact, with setbacks, it's impossible to fit 2 FAR in 3 stories!
@_KennyUong_ Broadway West @broadwayDTLA has been working for 7+ years and has actual plans to revitalize the theater district with programming and renovations within our historic theaters!
LA City Council just voted to delay implementing SB79 (more homes near transit), and chose a plan that allows for the least new housing possible - buildings only up to 4 stories. Some of the more progressive members on the council pushed for a compromise that STILL delays SB79 but allows 7 story buildings. Blocked. SB79 still will apply, eventually, and this just kicks the can down the road. But the complacency and lack of urgency is astounding.
ProPublica has uncovered something the Trump administration keeps insisting never happens.
Immigration agents have detained and mistreated American citizens.
Not one or two isolated mistakes.
More than 170 citizens this year.
Senate investigators interviewed people who were dragged from cars, threatened with guns, denied medical care, and held for days without access to a lawyer. Some of the victims were children. All were Americans.
And the administration still claims it never occurs.
Anyone who cares about public safety should be alarmed. Wrongly detaining citizens is reckless government overreach. It wastes resources on people who pose no threat and erodes trust in the agencies that actually keep us safe.
I think about my grandfather, Rosendo Bringas, who came here from Mexico as a boy and became a citizen at age 50. He worked his whole life for the protection and stability that citizenship promised.
What this report shows is that even citizens can no longer rely on that promise, based solely on how they look.https://t.co/A3FJUDPnps
Hi @DHSgov,
We’re the folks who reported the facts you’re now dismissing.
So just a reminder:
We found 170+ cases of immigration agents detaining U.S. citizens this year. In dozens of cases, charges have never been filed or the cases were dismissed.
Among the detained: nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.

@JDVance My mentally ill sister (and many other mentally ill people) was able to LEGALLY buy a weapon because of a broken system. People aren’t criticizing prayer, they are criticizing your party for doing nothing but pray instead of agreeing to common sense reform supported by majority.
A quick check on how the FAA began a pilot program during Trump’s first term to hire air traffic controllers with the conditions that he criticized yesterday.
