Yesterday, K-pop stans were enjoying themselves, saying the Grammys dgaf about all the drama surrounding BTS while celebrating that they kept the categories. And today, suddenly, SKZ not submitting is being presented as standing against racism, rejecting the Grammys, and making some grand statement against the system.

The switch-up is actually hilarious. 😭 When it’s BTS, the Grammys are apparently unbothered and the categories are worth celebrating. When it’s another grp, suddenly not submitting is a bold statement against racism and the Grammys. Same award show, completely different narrative.

"Asian Pop" does NOT exist. Just like "European Pop" or "American Pop" are not genres. Pop music is Pop music. "Asian" is a continent, not a musical classification. Stop disguising geographical and linguistic segregation as representation. Two months later, the Grammys still haven't addressed the most fundamental criticism of this category.

Increíble que pedir respeto por la privacidad de BTS y rechazar que los medios se instalen o permanezcan en el hotel sea interpretado como insultar, regañar o “sacar” a alguien.

Desde ARMY rechazamos que el hotel se convierta en un punto de espera para medios de comunicación. BTS está hospedado allí, no realizando una actividad pública.

¿Dónde queda la profesionalidad, @lafm y @vanedelatorre? ¿Cuál es la finalidad de permanecer en el hotel más allá de invadir su privacidad y perturbar el descanso de quienes se hospedan allí? ¿Qué tipo de información de valor genera hacer ese tipo de cubrimiento?

Hacemos un llamado al respeto y a la responsabilidad. Cubrir una noticia no elimina el derecho a la privacidad. BTS merece poder descansar y tener tranquilidad durante su estadía, como cualquier persona.
