Late night thought - there’s someone who can fix the whole Joe Buck/Troy Aikman mess. Chris Collinsworth. No, really I’m being serious. I’m old enough to remember when the three of them worked together at Fox. Great booth btw…Cris can save the 25 year friendship, IMO.
I mean, just an all-time TV segment. Making Chuck do Who He Play For multiple times in a row with the same players is a brilliant idea and I was legit crying laughing by the end, my god.
Athletes and bodybuilders used to be closer to the center with how they looked and trained. Nowadays, complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Bodybuilding was high jacked by overuse of gear and social media aesthetics.
Bodybuilding was cool before the mass monsters came along and ruined it.
What was once about aesthetics, symmetry and proportion has turned into a freak show of who can tolerate the most gear for the longest.
I respect the dedication…but 90% of todays top physiques are downright unappealing to me.
Give me the golden era of bodybuilding any day.
It’s because going to the gym is the “popular” thing to do now. A lot in the younger generation look at going to the gym as taking peptides - it’s the “in” thing to do now. All for Instagram likes.
Ok never understand this young generation of guys in the gym. All decked out in their Gymshark and YoungLA outfits, all doing goofy machine shit.
I’ve never seen these kids do ANY of the bedrock lifts I probably spent the first 3-5 years doing (overhead barbell presses, bent over rows, deadlifts, squats). It’s mind boggling.
Fun story from the gym this morning - this guy walks In and starts using the decline bench. Gets done and doesn’t re-rack. Goes on to the Incline Bench, doesn’t re-rack, and leaves the room. Comes back about 20 mins later, and uses one of the plates he left on the decline bench
to do side bends and then proceeds to PUT THE PLATE BACK ON THE BAR. He couldn’t be bothered to re-rack the weights TWICE. Mind you, I’ve seen this idiot riding his bike around town blaring music without any AirPods/headphones. If you don’t know that’s a sign of someone’s
My two cents on the question of why analysts never get blame - I believe they have all the leverage and market value. Org. cater more to them because they know analysts can always leave and get paid more by some other company in some other sector. Scouts? Not so much.
Long and the short of it is the best orgs do both subjective and objective aggressively with balance, and very well. They also use both to develop, which completes the picture.
What’s interesting is that analysts usually take all the credit, and never take any blame.
Why that happens is a question for everyone as whole, but the point remains that analytics have been part of the game for a very long time, and have a lot of value if used correctly.
Thank you. This is exactly right. I am so tired of seeing people saying “see it’s rigged.” No, it’s not. You know what’s also not rigged? Your stupidity. Get a life.
Didn’t I tell people a while back? It doesn’t matter anymore how good you are at your job or competency in overall life, it only matters the amount of social media followers you have compiled. Social media currency is everything. 🤡 world.
The Marlins cut longtime host Craig Minervini mainly because he wasn't selling subscriptions to the team's broadcasts and did not have many followers on social media, according to @flasportsbuzz.

I’m not saying, nor have I ever said sports is rigged. It’s not. But this Acuna news and other athletes getting involved in sports betting certainly helps the “sports is rigged crowd.” Can this be addressed in this next CBA? Should be.
MLB suspended Emmanuel Clase over gambling allegations and Pete Rose became baseball’s ultimate cautionary tale.
Now an active MLB player is partnering with a prediction market that MLB is reportedly considering a league-wide deal with.
You can understand why people might have questions about that.
Destroyed dating, created influencers who don’t deserve to be famous, made women lose touch with reality, made men think everyone wants to hear what they have to say, created peptide influencers selling a drug that’s technically not legal, created hard and soft launches…
16 years of turning a whole generation into vain, insecure shallow beings with inability to stay present and chronically need of external affirmations.
Somebody told Mike Breen:
The 76ers were out ready to practice and Embiid walked out on the court a couple of minutes late, and LeBron let him hear it.
This is what it’s all about — holding guys accountable. 💯
Mind you, it would be a messy deal to work through, and I’m not sure Harper is in Paul Tobini’s vision in what he wants to build, but if Bryce wanted a change, The Nationals are his best fit, albeit still a stretch.
Furthermore, Harper has a no-trade clause. This idea he could approve a trade to the Athletics because it’s Vegas is ludicrous to me. I could be wrong but I don’t see it for many many reasons
The Yankees and Brian Cashman don’t want him. For whatever reason, the Yankees don’t see a fit. Red Sox? Nah, I don’t see it. Mets? Nope. Dodgers? Maybe. But who would honestly be the most realistic fit for Harper and a team he’d approve in waiver the no-trade? The Nationals.
