@LSUGodzirra @StavattiAero Not true. If you dont see them and they dont see you because you are flying 6th or future 7th generation fighters that sensor cannot detect and you only see each other when you get to visual range, you will be forced into the merge.

Also,what are you going to do in the future when you're cruising along and an enemy gen 6 or 7 stealth jet passes by you without any sensors warning either jet? You'll be forced into the merge.

@DavidPe23449948 @StavattiAero F-35 uses IR to see through the floor of the plane and if they had visible light camera the resolution would not be as good as the naked eye and there would always be slight latency. Also the field of view is not as wide. Pilot would prefer both options to see without obstacles
