@finsends@gallymeroreboot Would give up a lot more to not give 100% of the dumbass population the right to bear arms. People can’t wipe their ass properly and you want to give them guns and live in fear of having one used on you? What kind of degenerate wants to live like that??
alpha bros be having podcasts where they coach other men to be hyper-masculine controlling red-flag assholes meanwhile every woman i know is completely horny for this 40 sec clip of tom holland in drag shaking his little ass to a feminist anthem
Musk attacking the governments of Germany, UK, and France and supporting far right parties to take over.
Trump threatening to invade everyone.
To all appearances, we are seeing the rise of a global cabal set about to turn "the West" into a giant Fascist Oligarchy

@bbboatclub I feel like the Canadian Equivalent of this is def the Tragically Hip as they are unheard of here but were (deservedly) massive in 🇨🇦. I’d never heard of Aslan before moving to Ireland, so that’d be one I can think of on the flipside. Would Hootie & the Blowfish be a US example?
This is the thing about climate change that will finally break society and I don’t think anyone - especially the ruling class - is prepared for how quickly it will happen
'I feel like I'm being forced out of Ireland - I'm just so angry and frustrated' - Teacher says she will probably emigrate after election result @rtenews | #RTÉUpfront
Imma try to keep this brief but quick history lesson... this specific rhetoric is literally how the Nazi party rose to power. I studied abroad in Berlin and learned a lot about the Weimar Republic which I had never even heard of before. They don't teach it here on purpose (1/?)
It's Black Friday, which is a big day for the big boys SO if you're a small or indie Irish retailer, bookseller, printmaker, craftperson (etc, etc) doing cool shit, please reply to this and we'll share 'em as good as we can.
@bbboatclub The use of smartphones while gathered around a stone hut had me chuckling. Lovely to have significant places like Rathcrogan visualized like this. Bualadh bos Blindboy! 👏
@bbboatclub Cinematography was incredible. The shot of the bird murmuration amongst the tree tops - was that real or digital? Incredible camera work. Took a page from ‘A Knights Tale’ director in filming by ‘feeling’ rather than 100% historical accurancy in ancient irish scenes? Loved that!
There's a popular narrative here that says immigrants are destroying Western culture.
I'd like to assert the opposite: immigrants are not only contributing to Western culture, they are often saving parts of it. Let's explore. 🧵
@wastelandbay The greatest divider is silence, imho. There are always people in my fam trying to “keep the peace” by not talking about issues, but silence communicates more than words can sometimes, and that peace is an illusion as it is always at the expense of the person who feels unheard.
@awedandflawed @darachos My observation is that it’s significantly generational & don’t get me wrong, in some ways Ireland is v advanced compared to most places on certain topics regardless of religion (e.g. stance on 🇵🇸) but coming from abroad, religion’s influence on my “secular” life is now palpable.
@awedandflawed @darachos There are & not to dismiss them! But imho it’s kind of the stuff that hits the intl news & is rad, but seems there’s heaps who rant progressively in the daylight, “are agnostic”, etc. but vote backwards under nightfall & suckle on the communion wafer (lit. & fig.) of tradition.
we're in this weird moment were gender norms are being challenged, but also becoming more constricting. many men wore things in the past that would cause great panic today. John Wayne in tiny shorts in Acapulco (1959); Stallone in crop tops in the film Rocky. Both masculine icons
