I know that #ZhouKeyu has been portrayed as having a tragic life, but not this tragic. who put onions here? 😭

His childhood experience really sounds so rough. Zhou Keyu was born in the US at a time when his parents were going through a divorce. His father reportedly didn’t even want him. He was put in an incubator right after birth and even his name wasn’t given by his parents. It was a pastor who gave him the english name Daniel. His parents don’t care about him when he got lost at 4 yo. He was burned by fire at the age of 7, caused semi-permanent damage in scalp.

His childhood was basically spent in neglect. He only saw his mother 3 times a year. No one really took care of him. Not until his older brother started working and brought him to Beijing to live, giving him a more normal environment to grow up in. At 16, he signed to the entertainment industry and started from scratch. At 17, he had serious illness. When he turned 18, he voluntarily gave up his US citizenship and obtained a Chinese ID, which is something many celebrities don’t do
