First, before I say anything about tonight’s episode, my deepest condolences to everyone who lost their lives, and my thoughts are with all those affected and their families. 🤍

And please forgive me for talking about Episode 8 tonight.

But before I even start, something made me happy. My best friend and her Arab husband in Qatar are now watching In Love Forever even before me 😭 and not only that.. my unbiological sister , my other half and other best friend, who is truly anti GL ... and her husband in Canada have started watching too. 🥹

After Episode 8, especially during the scenes between P'Runch and her mother, I immediately called her and told her, “Please watch this episode for me. I know GL is something you hate to watch, but just watch this one episode for me and tell me what you feel. ”

And she agreed. Because years ago, she experienced something similar with her own mother-in-law. same fear a mother can have when marriage makes her feel that someone is “taking her child away.” and because of that they flew away to canada...

And Guess what? Now she told me she is going back to watch In Love Forever from the beginning. 🥹💜
That, for me, already says so much about the power of this story.

Episode 8 feels like the real turning point of In Love Forever.

Tonight felt exactly like that. this stage of the story reaching a breaking point, Tonight simply made it impossible for everyone to continue pretending it was not there.

Before talking about the characters, I need to say this professionally: hats off to the entire team for the music and sound design tonight.

This may be one of my favorite episodes musically. The score, the timing of the sound effects, the way the music entered without overpowering the acting were beautifully handled.

Then here comes P’Runch.
She said A Lot today that stayed with me:
“I’m just a little disappointed that the rumors became louder than the truth.”
And later, during the interview:
“I’m not here to win an argument. I’m here to stand by my truth.”
That is P’Runch.

But Episode 8 once again showed one of her biggest weaknesses: Runch does not express what is happening inside her easily.

Someone always has to ask her:
What are you thinking ?What are you afraid of?
What do you actually want?
And I think that is something she still needs to learn: standing by your truth is important, but the people who love you cannot always read your silence.

Then we have Gingkamol.

Her scenes with Runch were emotionally complicated for me because, once again, I understand the emotion underneath her behavior.

She is her mother.. She built such a huge part of her life around her. Gingkamol believes that she is the person being hurt.

But come on… understanding her does not mean I can handle her. 😭 Not before, definitely not now, and I already know I won’t be able to handle her later either. 😂

So yes, I understand her as a character… but I am also waiting for the moment she finally has to face the consequences of everything she has done. 😭😂

Neen ...
One of the things I love most is the way she keeps reminding Runch:
“We’re together now. You don’t need to be strong alone.”
For me, that is such an important expression of partnership.
Love is not only saying, “I’m here.”
Sometimes love is saying:
“Give me some of the weight. You don’t have to carry everything by yourself anymore.”

And for someone like Runch someone who internalizes everything that kind of love matters even more.

Then… Utt. 😭

I understand that he is hurt. I understand the jealousy.
but Understanding someone is not the same as excusing them.
Pain does not automatically give us permission to
cause pain.
So yes, utt… I am still waiting for somebody to fire you OR To you to go to jail, because I cannot handle you anymore.

I already read the novel, so Episodes 9 and 10 are making me nervous before they have even arrived.

But watching the series feels like experiencing the story all over again in a completely different emotional language. And I love both versions.

when you watch #LingOrm, the supporting cast, the direction, the music, the silence, the expressions, the cinematography, and every small detail working together… the emotions become real in front of you.
And somehow, knowing what happens does not make it hurt less.
